Is expired makeup bad??

I love MAC cosmetics and i want to buy a lot of their products but people have been saying that makeup expires after a while.. like some products are good for a year and stuff like that but i dont want to buy a lot because i know i wont use it all in a year?!?!?!?! so i was wondering, what happens if u use expired makeup? does it damage your face or anything??? please help me if u know! fast! thanks =]]]Is expired makeup bad??
Its not necessarily ';bad'; but i give a high recommendation to not use it. With ';expired makeup'; there can be a lot of bacteria in it, even if it still looks the same. And once that you're makeup has expired, the preservatives in you're makeup do become less affective, so it lets all the bacteria to multiply in your compact, tube, and bottle. Then when you apply it to your face, you can breakout and even get a rash. And if you already have acne, it will do nothing to help you.

Hope it helped! Is expired makeup bad??
Ok, yes, makeup does expire.

And if you use it, you are more prone to breakouts or infections on your skin.

Is mica and talc in makeup bad?

so i was searching stuff and i found ppl saying that mica and talc are bad for your skin

is this true ?

i have combo skin and i used to have bad acne but now i just get the occasional pimple

should i stop using it

i mean it dosent irritate my skin but i guess its not helping my acne scar issue i have tooIs mica and talc in makeup bad?
I've hear talc can clog pores. Mica, as in sericite mica, is a great substitute for Talc in a lot of mineral makeup products. I've never heard of it being bad for your skin.

Just keep in mind the sources you hear that stuff from. If there is no scientific evidence then it may just be ';scare mongering'; of the website author who's trying to convince you to buy their ';healthier'; alternative!

Do more research. A site called cosmeticscops is a good place to start.

If you are looking for a talc free makeup, you might wanna try what I use, the Hollywood mineral makeup from LA Minerals. Is mica and talc in makeup bad?
talc is indeed bad for youre skin. It might cause redness due to clogging of pores on people with more sensitive acne prone skin (like you). I would suggest not to use talc in your make up if it does show signs that you are bothered from it, instead choose mineral make up. Talc is usually found in cheaper make up products as it is a cheaper chemical alternative. However many scientists have developed a replacement and use titanium dioxide and zinc that are inert substances that won't affect the skin negatively, this replaces chemicals like mica as well too.

Mica is a chemical that makes stuff shine, overall you'll be mostly affected if you are allergic to mica. In that case, dont use mica and use bismuth oxides that is a replacement for mica.

Some mineral make-up if you prefer high-end are bare minerals and everyday minerals. Bare minerals contain bismuth oxide, if allergic use everyday minerals they don't contain any bismuth oxide. I also heard everyday minerals have a better selection of tones, which helps asians like myself to match our shade better.

Lower-end products doesn't mean necessarily bad theycan be just as as good. Loreal mineral make-up has really great reviews. I am using it right now and it's pretty good, except for the fact that it doesn't have a wide selection of tones for the skin. Another one is physicians formula with their new talc-free mineral make up, it has positive reviews too. I think the physicians formula has more of a yellow-undertone so it may not match pink undertones as well.

Also you might wanna check this website out of the main bad chemicals in make up:

They have probably been using these ingredients for thousands of years. Mica and talc are only bad if you have asthma - because of inhaling the powder.

Aside from all of that- it is better for your skin to wash at least twice a day with warm water and mild soap- rinse rinse rinse- keep your hands away from your face and do not use make up.

I'm watching E!, stars without makeup and I was wondering, do you think most of the stars really look that bad?

Like do you think most of them just look normal?I'm watching E!, stars without makeup and I was wondering, do you think most of the stars really look that bad?
they look normal and some actually look better that way,

some put loads of make up and makes them look really old and puffyI'm watching E!, stars without makeup and I was wondering, do you think most of the stars really look that bad?
They most likely really look like those pics. I have friends that I barely recognize without their make-up, so I can just imagine the difference in appearance when a professional does the make-up and hair. Celebrities are real people just like the rest of us.....
they dont actually look THAT bad because E! will put up the worst photo's they have of them.. it would be sort of boring if they wern't really ugly pictures. of course this is why we all watch E! right?
I don't think they look that bad. I'm was just watching that show. I didn't think Katie Holmes looked horrible, i just thought it was the picture
Yes, they look THAT bad.
ehh some look kinda bad but most of them really look fine :)
Yes

Does anyone else think that Jordan/katie price now looks like a trannie with bad dress sense and 2 much makeup?

or is just me?Does anyone else think that Jordan/katie price now looks like a trannie with bad dress sense and 2 much makeup?
This woman is an example of how too much plastic surgery can reall screw up a person's looks.Does anyone else think that Jordan/katie price now looks like a trannie with bad dress sense and 2 much makeup?
I have seen her close up and she has really bad skin, close up she looks bad, and I mean bad. She looks great on the mag covers with the help of airbrushing but the problem is that for some reason she is wearing make up that is meant for photo shoots and not the correct make up for the TV lights and I can't understand why her make up artist is making this glaringingly obvious mistake, so yes this does make her look like a bad drag act.
i do think she has gone OTT she doesn't need all that make up, she is naturally gorgeous!! I think she has got a bit too caught up in the whole LA lifestyle. But I don't think she has a bad dress sense nor do I think she looks like a tranny, she's far too pretty to look like a bloke!
Yes your right, but the sad thing is she is so pretty without all that crap on her face, shes never looked prettier then when she was in ';I,m a celebrity, get me out of here'; so naturally beautiful. Silly Woman.
Yes! She looks pretty hideous with that dark orange tan, fake-looking black hair extensions, false breasts and unnatural make-up. She really isn't very attractive.

She's a good reason why people should lay off the plastic surgery and let nature shine through.
She always has, she is just highlighting it more now
Nothings changed then?!
No, not just you. She looks a mess, and she used to be so pretty
Haha yes!
Hope she does not read this or she will be on that plane again having more stuff done and it will all be YOUR fault!
I have been thinking that for years now!
Haha! Spot on Sindy! Mind you,she is married to something more stupid than a vibrator!
I agree. She looks like an ugly barbie.
hit the nail on the head!
she certainly seems to have a very large wardrobe!
yes, she has crossed that line a long time ago
no

  • Does anyone know some good makeup that is not bad for skin that I can buy at like Wal-Mart or CVS?

I'm African American, and am brown skinned pretty much the color of my avator, I would prefer some type of powder make up.

Cost does not really matter, but I would lilke it to be a brand at like CVS and not something I have to order off line or over the phoneDoes anyone know some good makeup that is not bad for skin that I can buy at like Wal-Mart or CVS?
Both Iman and Revlon have great color ranges in good formulas. Both are at the higher $ of drugstore makeup and for a few dollars more you can pick up Clinique's Stay Matte Powder (which is awesome) for like $18 or $19 and they last forever.

If you do end up going for a drugstore item, buy it from CVS, Walgreens or RiteAid since they all allow you to return (used) stuff that didn't work out for you.Does anyone know some good makeup that is not bad for skin that I can buy at like Wal-Mart or CVS?
All makeups are made of pure chemicals. So you can't really get a makeup that isn't bad for skin. If you need compact powder for acne and pimples I would just suggest a creme instead. Otherwise you probably do not need powder. Lipgloss,Mascara, Eyeliner and Eyeshadow are not that bad for skin though but blush and powders are. I am sorry I didn't answer your question fully but I hope I helped:)
If your skin is acne prone, I would recommend Neutrogena or mineral makeup. With the mineral makeup, you can get it at Walmart or CVS, and the prices range from cheap to moderate. Hope I helped!

Personally, I love Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse foundation because it gives an airbrushed look, and lasts all day long without making me look shiny.:)
    Neutrogena makeup line!!!!!!!!!!!!
cover girl i use that and it works good

    IS MAKEUP BAD FOR ACNE?

people say it is, but who really knows?IS MAKEUP BAD FOR ACNE?
Hypoallergic cosmetics do not affect acne, so you can try that. Also, try asking the beauty expert in the cosmetics counter if that particular product you have chosen is bad for acne before buying it.IS MAKEUP BAD FOR ACNE?
it can be, to some extent. i mean if you cake on loads of foundation and blusher and everything, then you are blocking up your pores even more and it certainly wont help.

but acne is different to just a few spots. spots are caused by blocked pores, caused by leaving make up on for a long time, overnight and not cleansing etc. however, acne is caused by a high level of testosterone (yes really! females do have this - inc. me!) wich causes a waxy layer on the skin which causes the spots. to get rid of this, you can get lotions from your doctor, or you can just pay a little extra for the really good skin stuff like dermalogica.

i also know, suffering myself, that you really dont want to go without make up! i would never leave the house without some foundation on, and the patterns that my skin goes through, i dont think it affects my skin.

my advice would be to just use make up in moderation, take off when you come home for the day, and cleanse well with a decent facewash. and ALWAYS take make up off at night!

    good luck!

not really,I use mineral make up and I very seldom get zits on my face, use the make up products that suits you, you might gone through a tough period trying and testing products that suit you but is definitely a process for those who love make up.

once you found products suitable for your skin, makeup not only can improve your complexion but also wont lead your skin to acne prone skin.

my skin has improve since i use mineral products.
Most foundations, no matter what are in them, is bad for your skin and can cause acne. Its not because of the makeup though, its because you have to really clean your face good at night or you wont get all your foundation off your face even if you think it is. Mineral makeup is going to be the best for acne.
yes make-up is generally bad for acne but if ur desperate to cover up, i've found a useful product called nude by nature. its mineral make-up, contains no skin irritants especially bismuth and feels so light on ur face. and the best part???? it actually helps treat acne while you wear it. just don't wear it to bed just in case!!!
That's what mineral make up is for, it doesn't have heaps of chemicals so it doesn't irritate sensitive skin. I use the Maybelline mineral powder and i like it! (although I don't have acne, just really sensitive skin)

I think the main things is not to get foundation that creates more oil or clogs pores.
Some make up is bad for acne, some of them have harmful chemicals in them that causes pimples. I suggest you use a limited amount so that acne won't break out.
some make up is bad but if you invest in make up which is good for sensitive skin and is oil free and a good cleanser to remove it later on it should be ok.

Mineral makeup is great for all skin types
as long as you wash it off before bed it wont really do anything..just be sure to either buy mineral makeup or at least oil free...
it actually is bad for acne....
