Is expired makeup bad??

I love MAC cosmetics and i want to buy a lot of their products but people have been saying that makeup expires after a while.. like some products are good for a year and stuff like that but i dont want to buy a lot because i know i wont use it all in a year?!?!?!?! so i was wondering, what happens if u use expired makeup? does it damage your face or anything??? please help me if u know! fast! thanks =]]]Is expired makeup bad??
Its not necessarily ';bad'; but i give a high recommendation to not use it. With ';expired makeup'; there can be a lot of bacteria in it, even if it still looks the same. And once that you're makeup has expired, the preservatives in you're makeup do become less affective, so it lets all the bacteria to multiply in your compact, tube, and bottle. Then when you apply it to your face, you can breakout and even get a rash. And if you already have acne, it will do nothing to help you.

Hope it helped! Is expired makeup bad??
Ok, yes, makeup does expire.

And if you use it, you are more prone to breakouts or infections on your skin.

Is mica and talc in makeup bad?

so i was searching stuff and i found ppl saying that mica and talc are bad for your skin

is this true ?

i have combo skin and i used to have bad acne but now i just get the occasional pimple

should i stop using it

i mean it dosent irritate my skin but i guess its not helping my acne scar issue i have tooIs mica and talc in makeup bad?
I've hear talc can clog pores. Mica, as in sericite mica, is a great substitute for Talc in a lot of mineral makeup products. I've never heard of it being bad for your skin.

Just keep in mind the sources you hear that stuff from. If there is no scientific evidence then it may just be ';scare mongering'; of the website author who's trying to convince you to buy their ';healthier'; alternative!

Do more research. A site called cosmeticscops is a good place to start.

If you are looking for a talc free makeup, you might wanna try what I use, the Hollywood mineral makeup from LA Minerals. Is mica and talc in makeup bad?
talc is indeed bad for youre skin. It might cause redness due to clogging of pores on people with more sensitive acne prone skin (like you). I would suggest not to use talc in your make up if it does show signs that you are bothered from it, instead choose mineral make up. Talc is usually found in cheaper make up products as it is a cheaper chemical alternative. However many scientists have developed a replacement and use titanium dioxide and zinc that are inert substances that won't affect the skin negatively, this replaces chemicals like mica as well too.

Mica is a chemical that makes stuff shine, overall you'll be mostly affected if you are allergic to mica. In that case, dont use mica and use bismuth oxides that is a replacement for mica.

Some mineral make-up if you prefer high-end are bare minerals and everyday minerals. Bare minerals contain bismuth oxide, if allergic use everyday minerals they don't contain any bismuth oxide. I also heard everyday minerals have a better selection of tones, which helps asians like myself to match our shade better.

Lower-end products doesn't mean necessarily bad theycan be just as as good. Loreal mineral make-up has really great reviews. I am using it right now and it's pretty good, except for the fact that it doesn't have a wide selection of tones for the skin. Another one is physicians formula with their new talc-free mineral make up, it has positive reviews too. I think the physicians formula has more of a yellow-undertone so it may not match pink undertones as well.

Also you might wanna check this website out of the main bad chemicals in make up:

http://www.greenlivingonline.com/BeautyFashion/six-makeup-chemicals-to-avoid/
They have probably been using these ingredients for thousands of years. Mica and talc are only bad if you have asthma - because of inhaling the powder.

Aside from all of that- it is better for your skin to wash at least twice a day with warm water and mild soap- rinse rinse rinse- keep your hands away from your face and do not use make up.

I'm watching E!, stars without makeup and I was wondering, do you think most of the stars really look that bad?

Like do you think most of them just look normal?I'm watching E!, stars without makeup and I was wondering, do you think most of the stars really look that bad?
they look normal and some actually look better that way,

some put loads of make up and makes them look really old and puffyI'm watching E!, stars without makeup and I was wondering, do you think most of the stars really look that bad?
They most likely really look like those pics. I have friends that I barely recognize without their make-up, so I can just imagine the difference in appearance when a professional does the make-up and hair. Celebrities are real people just like the rest of us.....
they dont actually look THAT bad because E! will put up the worst photo's they have of them.. it would be sort of boring if they wern't really ugly pictures. of course this is why we all watch E! right?
I don't think they look that bad. I'm was just watching that show. I didn't think Katie Holmes looked horrible, i just thought it was the picture
Yes, they look THAT bad.
ehh some look kinda bad but most of them really look fine :)
Yes

Does anyone else think that Jordan/katie price now looks like a trannie with bad dress sense and 2 much makeup?

or is just me?Does anyone else think that Jordan/katie price now looks like a trannie with bad dress sense and 2 much makeup?
This woman is an example of how too much plastic surgery can reall screw up a person's looks.Does anyone else think that Jordan/katie price now looks like a trannie with bad dress sense and 2 much makeup?
I have seen her close up and she has really bad skin, close up she looks bad, and I mean bad. She looks great on the mag covers with the help of airbrushing but the problem is that for some reason she is wearing make up that is meant for photo shoots and not the correct make up for the TV lights and I can't understand why her make up artist is making this glaringingly obvious mistake, so yes this does make her look like a bad drag act.
i do think she has gone OTT she doesn't need all that make up, she is naturally gorgeous!! I think she has got a bit too caught up in the whole LA lifestyle. But I don't think she has a bad dress sense nor do I think she looks like a tranny, she's far too pretty to look like a bloke!
Yes your right, but the sad thing is she is so pretty without all that crap on her face, shes never looked prettier then when she was in ';I,m a celebrity, get me out of here'; so naturally beautiful. Silly Woman.
Yes! She looks pretty hideous with that dark orange tan, fake-looking black hair extensions, false breasts and unnatural make-up. She really isn't very attractive.

She's a good reason why people should lay off the plastic surgery and let nature shine through.
She always has, she is just highlighting it more now
Nothings changed then?!
No, not just you. She looks a mess, and she used to be so pretty
Haha yes!
Hope she does not read this or she will be on that plane again having more stuff done and it will all be YOUR fault!
I have been thinking that for years now!
Haha! Spot on Sindy! Mind you,she is married to something more stupid than a vibrator!
I agree. She looks like an ugly barbie.
hit the nail on the head!
she certainly seems to have a very large wardrobe!
yes, she has crossed that line a long time ago
no

  • Does anyone know some good makeup that is not bad for skin that I can buy at like Wal-Mart or CVS?

I'm African American, and am brown skinned pretty much the color of my avator, I would prefer some type of powder make up.

Cost does not really matter, but I would lilke it to be a brand at like CVS and not something I have to order off line or over the phoneDoes anyone know some good makeup that is not bad for skin that I can buy at like Wal-Mart or CVS?
Both Iman and Revlon have great color ranges in good formulas. Both are at the higher $ of drugstore makeup and for a few dollars more you can pick up Clinique's Stay Matte Powder (which is awesome) for like $18 or $19 and they last forever.

If you do end up going for a drugstore item, buy it from CVS, Walgreens or RiteAid since they all allow you to return (used) stuff that didn't work out for you.Does anyone know some good makeup that is not bad for skin that I can buy at like Wal-Mart or CVS?
All makeups are made of pure chemicals. So you can't really get a makeup that isn't bad for skin. If you need compact powder for acne and pimples I would just suggest a creme instead. Otherwise you probably do not need powder. Lipgloss,Mascara, Eyeliner and Eyeshadow are not that bad for skin though but blush and powders are. I am sorry I didn't answer your question fully but I hope I helped:)
If your skin is acne prone, I would recommend Neutrogena or mineral makeup. With the mineral makeup, you can get it at Walmart or CVS, and the prices range from cheap to moderate. Hope I helped!

Personally, I love Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse foundation because it gives an airbrushed look, and lasts all day long without making me look shiny.:)
    Neutrogena makeup line!!!!!!!!!!!!
cover girl i use that and it works good

    IS MAKEUP BAD FOR ACNE?

people say it is, but who really knows?IS MAKEUP BAD FOR ACNE?
Hypoallergic cosmetics do not affect acne, so you can try that. Also, try asking the beauty expert in the cosmetics counter if that particular product you have chosen is bad for acne before buying it.IS MAKEUP BAD FOR ACNE?
it can be, to some extent. i mean if you cake on loads of foundation and blusher and everything, then you are blocking up your pores even more and it certainly wont help.

but acne is different to just a few spots. spots are caused by blocked pores, caused by leaving make up on for a long time, overnight and not cleansing etc. however, acne is caused by a high level of testosterone (yes really! females do have this - inc. me!) wich causes a waxy layer on the skin which causes the spots. to get rid of this, you can get lotions from your doctor, or you can just pay a little extra for the really good skin stuff like dermalogica.

i also know, suffering myself, that you really dont want to go without make up! i would never leave the house without some foundation on, and the patterns that my skin goes through, i dont think it affects my skin.

my advice would be to just use make up in moderation, take off when you come home for the day, and cleanse well with a decent facewash. and ALWAYS take make up off at night!

    good luck!

    xxx
not really,I use mineral make up and I very seldom get zits on my face, use the make up products that suits you, you might gone through a tough period trying and testing products that suit you but is definitely a process for those who love make up.

once you found products suitable for your skin, makeup not only can improve your complexion but also wont lead your skin to acne prone skin.

my skin has improve since i use mineral products.
Most foundations, no matter what are in them, is bad for your skin and can cause acne. Its not because of the makeup though, its because you have to really clean your face good at night or you wont get all your foundation off your face even if you think it is. Mineral makeup is going to be the best for acne.
yes make-up is generally bad for acne but if ur desperate to cover up, i've found a useful product called nude by nature. its mineral make-up, contains no skin irritants especially bismuth and feels so light on ur face. and the best part???? it actually helps treat acne while you wear it. just don't wear it to bed just in case!!!
That's what mineral make up is for, it doesn't have heaps of chemicals so it doesn't irritate sensitive skin. I use the Maybelline mineral powder and i like it! (although I don't have acne, just really sensitive skin)

I think the main things is not to get foundation that creates more oil or clogs pores.
Some make up is bad for acne, some of them have harmful chemicals in them that causes pimples. I suggest you use a limited amount so that acne won't break out.
some make up is bad but if you invest in make up which is good for sensitive skin and is oil free and a good cleanser to remove it later on it should be ok.

    xxxxxx
Mineral makeup is great for all skin types
as long as you wash it off before bed it wont really do anything..just be sure to either buy mineral makeup or at least oil free...
it actually is bad for acne....

Do I look bad with makeup?

Ok I just recently started wearing a little bit of makeup. Barely any just eyeliner and sometimes eyeshadow but my mom and older sister is always telling me that I look ugly with makeup on. According to my sister uglier then I already am (ya thanks a lot sis) so what do you guys think? Should I just stop wearing it?

www.myspace.com/ye_inDo I look bad with makeup?
Umm no. I don't think you're applying it properly tho. You'd look prettier in it if you knew how to put it on right. Just watch youtube tutorials for how to put on eyeliner, shadow etc.

You're pretty and young. So you really don't need it and don't listen to you're sister. She's probably just jealous.Do I look bad with makeup?
Every girl goes through that. You just have to learn what works for you and what doesn't. And by the way, you're NOT ugly. If your mom and sis call you ugly and you guy's look alike, what does that make them.
You would look better with eyeliner that isn't so heavy! You could start out with blush, mascara, and some lip gloss. A colored eyeliner could be better, it is not so harsh and it's really beautiful actually!
honestly i can say on one of your pictures

you kind of over did it with harsh eyeliner just

try to not put to much on :)

    but you dont look ugly
you dont look ugly but just cut down on it a little bit
no but you look better without it. also you should change your hair so its not covering your pretty face!
you look good with makeup or without makeup

I sweat so bad it is hard to put makeup on, please help!?

    Any advice greatly appreciated!

Usually I go through my routine, I get out of the shower, put lotion on, get dressed, dry my hair, and then try to put my makeup on. I have even switched things around some but nothing seems to help. No matter what, every time I try to put makeup on I always seem to be sweating, and sometimes I do not even try because I am so hot the makeup looks terrible. I have tried fans blowing on me, spraying cool water mist, etc.I sweat so bad it is hard to put makeup on, please help!?
i have the same problem most mornings. I usually want til the very last to put my make-up on. That way my body temp is back down to normal. I do end up turning air temp down and making sure that i am in the coolest place in house while i am waiting. Sometimes i do end up putting it on in there also. Taking a cooler shower will also help.I sweat so bad it is hard to put makeup on, please help!?
I'll agree with the above post.

If this problem has been going on for years? If so you should contact your doctor. There's a condition called facial hyperhidrosis basically people who have this their face is always sweaty and it's hard to put make up on and sometimes embarrassing.

If it's a constant problem contact your doctor.
Try putting your makeup on in a cooler room and also try l'oreal infaliable foundation. The stuff works like a dream. It really does stays fresh for 16 hours and it makes your skin look more glowing throughout the day. Its prefect for people who sweat a lot
Put your make-up on in a different room than the bathroom that you heated up taking a hot shower or blowing your hair dry. Turn the air conditioner on really cold 20 minutes before you start your shower. Take a shower with cooler water, also.

Is makeup bad for u'r health?

depends on what u use..but it can't kill u lolz!!Is makeup bad for u'r health?
no honey, makeup isn't bad for your health.

All you have to do is to make sure you use the right products for the right places and very important make sure to cleanse, tone and moisturize your face twice a day so that you can remove the makeup and give time for your skin to breathIs makeup bad for u'r health?
haha, No it isnt. Just make sure you use the best product for you ( could cost ya ... for trying so many products that is best for u ) lol and take off the make up every night. your skin needs to breathe yanoe haha ;]

the buying so much make up could be bad for ur heath.. lmao
Make up isn't bad for your health but its bad for your skin and can make your break out alots... if your dont take your make up off before you go to bed.

Is it bad to wear makeup to the pool?

    if i don't swim

will it meltIs it bad to wear makeup to the pool?
Nope it won't melt! Try Clinique's waterproof line if you do want to go swimming however. They have waterproof mascara, blush, eyeshadow, foundation etc!Is it bad to wear makeup to the pool?
Not unless it's waterproof makeup. Like I have this awesome Liquid Water Proof Eyeliner that I wear everyday to the pool it doesn't run it just wears off.
Depends if it's an outdoor pool or not, there's no point of going to the pool if you won't get into the water. I recommend you put on waterproof makeup
YES if you wear it in the pool you will die of a horendous anal disease!!!
it won't necessarily melt per say....you will need a great sunscreen first of all...which is a must even when the sun is not at its peak.

I say wear a hat, that shields your head and face from the sun and keeps you stylish!
If you swim, it most likely run...

If you don't, then it won't.
IT IS TOO TACKY...NO ...A DEFINITE...NO... PLEASE DONT FOR UR OWN SAKE... ITS TOO MUCH TRUST ME
In the pool, it may run. I wouldn't reccomend it.
iDK i DONT THiNK PEOPLE NEED MAKEUP TO LOOK PRETTY!
I would hate to see your face if you get water splashed on it. It won't melt just streak all over.
no makeup doesn't melt unless it's lipstick then it will ttly melt but don't wear makeup
No as long as your wearing waterproof mascara
I hate seeing girls at the pool with makeup on! You are at the pool! Why do you need makeup? Most of them are 13-16 yr olds tho, so that explains it!
If it's water resistant and your not getting soaked, you should be okay. But honestly, you'll look better if you use a good suncreen, a little sexy lipgloss and some cool shades! :)
i think it'll come off in the pool too, why can't u go without it?
well it will wash of if u rud ur face or something

u should always take a shower after swimming!!
I don't see why not. Now i wouldn't wear eye makeup just because there's already chlorine and on top of eye makeup it might not be a good ideal.
    no it will run

Whenever I apply eye makeup, my one eye waters really bad, Why?

I have tried everything. I bought all new makeup hoping that fresh makeup would do the trick, but no. This just started the past couple of years and after a few hours it stops, but I have to reaply my makeup. Has anyone ever experienced this? It's so annoying!Whenever I apply eye makeup, my one eye waters really bad, Why?
you may have a cist. try to not where makeup for a week or more. then you can start wearing it again and you should be fine.

a cist in your eye can come very easily if you use alot of eyeliner and you re apply it throughout the day. you may also have a clogged tear duct. try to not wear makeup for awhile and when you do make sure you remove it with eye makeup remover.Whenever I apply eye makeup, my one eye waters really bad, Why?
I have, you might be allergic to the makeup.Maybe try another brand.Good Luck!
Allergies. Try not wearing it. You're going to ruin your eyes for a little bit of false ';beauty?'; is that really worth it?
i usually expirience that too.but i have figured it the chemicals in the makeup that reacts when it comes to contact with the eye/bdy fluids.so you might choose another brand or all the same save you eyes for the future.we are fearfully and wonderfully made,we need no make up!!

    Is makeup bad for acne?

As long as i can remember iv always used makeup to hide acne marks and redness, so about 8 months iv been using it, my acne has gotten to a point were its really bad, iv stopped using it for about a day now and i just wanna know if my cover up could be causing my acne to spread and get worse? Im a guy by the way.Is makeup bad for acne?
Try going off of dairy products (cheese, milk and ANY other) for one month and see what happens. You may see a DRAMATIC difference. Is makeup bad for acne?
If you do use cover up to hide acne it is CRUCIAL that the cover up does not have oil in it. Get an oil-free formula. Also, since bacteria thrives on your hands, buy a supply of soft sponges to apply the make up and use a new one every time to eliminate the spreading of bacteria on your face. Use a oil free cleanser twice daily. If acne persists, you can get a prescription pill or cream to help resolve it.
    get bareminerals.

its kidna expensive but it actually helped me get rid of acne

i even sleep in it some nights, on accident of course.

any kind of mineral make up is better than cover up

cover up has so much stuff in it that is harmful to your skin

i would say try mineral makeup, and if it dosen't help you out, then go to a dermotologist
Wash your face with dawn dish soap with bleach. I know it sounds crazy, but it really helped me. If Dawn can take grease out of dirty dishes, it can help get the grease off my face. For makeup use the stuff where it says won't clog pores. Stay away from oils. Also try exfoliating, dead skin can also cause acne.
yeah .. get a coverup thats oil free or non-comegenic or whatever that word is

i use cover-up and its oil free and it doesnt make my acne worse

i take it off after school and clean my face again

    try a mineral makeup
it depends..... some coverup even has acne medication in it and if you get natural cosmetics they usually arent bad for your skin
dont buy the cheap products, a lot of them are designed for teenage skins so should be okay
    yes

Guys, would it bother you if your girl friend looked really good with makeup, but really bad without?

i look good with it, and bad without as well. :(Guys, would it bother you if your girl friend looked really good with makeup, but really bad without?
good question hmm ....Guys, would it bother you if your girl friend looked really good with makeup, but really bad without?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
yes it would...you have to wake up next to them the next morning!
Isn't that how all women are?

    Kidding.

If a girl ';only looks good'; with makeup on, she doesn't look good.

That means she's wearing too much makeup and that's gross.

Little to no make up is best. Natural beauty is far better than caking on foundation to cover your bad skin (which will only make your skin worse).
it wud certainly bother ny guy ya...cz it wud hav been better if one lukd pathetic wid make up but pretty otrwse...i tink natural beauty is watz important!
I'm not a guy, but did you see the last season of ';The Bad Girls Club';? There was a girl on there, came into the show later, and she looked like a completely different person without her brows and makeup. It has to depend on the guy, if he cares, he's too superficial.
no, it's not just about looks, the person is important so makeup or makeup it makes no diff
Of course it would. Nobody wants an ugly bird..........Nasty.
in all honesty yes it would, firstly because that would mean she has to wear a lot of makeup and i HATE makeup on woman.

secondly because i love woman who have good natural features and usually woman who wear make up dont so yeh it would.

though in all honesty its not a major issue, looks are looks you cant change them.
I tend to find that girlfriends look the same whether I'm wearing make-up or not.

Oh, and that thing the other guy said about getting past the **** - priceless!
its not really hard to make you understand, would you see a guy who put on makeup looking handsome ? no, not at all thats what most girls say because they look great naturally with thier skin fresh as ever with every face wash

dont use makeup it slowly burns the fat in your face and you will look like horrible cameron diaz without makeup at young age like she did
Normal make-up cannot hide unattractiveness merely enhance what is already there.

If anyone feels bothered about this then they should take a good look in the mirror, because that's the one the only one they will truly love.
I agree if your bloke is worth anything he will think you look really good all the time :) and no it wouldn't bother me.
    no silly

the beauty comes from inside, i wear make-up like

all u need to do is wear less and less every day, then no1 wil notice
    No

I never get past the t!ts
Nope. People don't choose their own physical appearance so I don't judge on that.

If you're fat or annoying or wear ugly clothes or whatever, things that ARE a personal choice, that's different.

Is makeup bad for your skin?

Well, depending on how old you are, it may not be necessary for your skin. Assuming you're at least 13 (that's when I started wearing a bit), it's fine, depending on what kind you use. It can actually act as a barrier against pollutants/ icky stuff in the air that could otherwise get in your pores. Tinted moisturizers with SPF and mineral-based foundations like bare ecsentuals are the best for your skin, but generally just don't use anything that is oil-based. And how old are you, btw?Is makeup bad for your skin?
it definitely can be...i bought Dinair Airbrush Makeup 2 years ago namely because its all water based so its not bad for ur skin. I love it...it also makes my skin look flawless...its great makeup...if u wanna look at their pics and stuff just google Dinair...hope i helped...=)Is makeup bad for your skin?
some of it, noncomodegenic (is that how u spell it?) isnt bad for it though!
It can be if you wear to much. It can clog up your pores and make zits. But always remember to wash it off at night, or else it can cause pimples or zits.
yes it is very bad, but if u clean it everyday with speical cleaning things such as stuff from clean and clear it'll be fine
all the answers are true, there are some risks and sometimes a certain brand or product can cause things such as acne, and rashes

but if you use make up that is fairly natural or thats good for skin such as skin nourishing/moisturizing or ones that improve skin clarity etc. it can be good for your skin
    it can be,

just use oil free productc and make sure to wash ur face before and after applying your makeup
not always. but you should stay away from oils, like liquid foundation. wash your face everyday in the morning and at night.
it can be. essentially you are covering your skin, including your pores, so that you skin can't breathe and your pores can become clogged. that's why it's good to use light, oil-free products and wash off makeup before going to bed.

Is makeup bad for the skin?!?

i am 13 and i wear base and a small amount of eye shadow to school

almost everyday.. is that bad..?Is makeup bad for the skin?!?
are forgetting sunscreen?!?! because that's BAD!

wearing the make up isn't bad... not washing your face 2 TIMES per day is .... you just gotta remember to keep your skin clean and you'll be fine.

wearing the wrong type of make up can also cause breakouts. i would stay away from those drugstore brands like wet-n-wild and cover girl becuase they contain artificial fillers and sub-par ingrediantsIs makeup bad for the skin?!?
No, it's not bad at all. Just wash your face with a cleanser from a local drugstore twice a day and be sure to find a face moisturizer with sunscreen. Make sure all your make-up is off your face when you retire to bed.
yes, it is. Try not to use it everyday
wash ur face 2x a day

    and eyeshadow is not bad

I need a new hair and makeup style bad.?

Okay so I reallly need a new hair and make up style.

I have shoulder length dark brown hair with layers and side bangs.

I usally put my hair up in a pony tail and use eyeliner on my bottom lash.

    But im sick of it.

Please help meI need a new hair and makeup style bad.?
ok STEP 1 put the eyeliner down if thats all youve been using stay away from it for a long tim opt for mascara, its my best friend! then go for a gel blush and concealer

OPTION 1 grow your hair out! long hair is the look of the season maybe opt for extensions if your impatient.

OPTION 2 cut your hair 1in below jaw with LOTS of layers and chopy bangs! then take hair wak and play it up!!I need a new hair and makeup style bad.?
For your haiir jus rough dry it then run the straightners over it then brush it back and let it lay naturally! But dont straighten youur haiir so it goes poker straight - thats just boring! Roughly straightening haiir giives it texture - textured haiir is hot :)

For youur make-up - go all out on youur eyes; Liquid eyeliner is the best, try some flicks from the outer corner of youur eyes

Try colured eye liners aswell - like a flourescent pink or green; Try Barry M products there realy good [=

    Hope ive helped kinda X
Okay so for your hair I would recommend pinning it back in a hump or just let it hang down! hair is so pretty when its layered, especially down! Maybe even go with a new color or something different!

Make up is always fun to just experiment with.

Try a soft pastel color like these...

    http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi?/a>

and use liquid liner to make a ';cat eye'; effect.

Line your bottom lashes like you usually do and layer on a lenghening or thickening mascara.

Hope you find what your looking for!

    =D
Go for edgy! I would recommend that you get your hair colored and cut short. Go with a carmel and rich brown weave, and have your hair cut short. (check out Rihanna's new do) I would go with a razor-cut, piecy haircut. It's a great fresh look. Then put on mascara and eyeliner, with a golden-toned palette of eyeshadow. Drop dead gorgeous!
okay wat i do is if u have a curler then u flip it upside down and u wrap ur hair around it kinda like this vido but a curler instead its a really cute hair style everyone loves it but u dont have to pen them up i dont as for the makeup i say put black eyeliner on ur lid then smear it.

Why is makeup so bad for your skin?

I don't think makeup is necessarily bad for your skin. What is bad, however, is not washing if off at night. Why is makeup so bad for your skin?
They all are not bad its that some people over use it. Some use the wrong kind. Some use cheap makeup in which can damage your skin. People should use make up to enhance their beauty not rely on it to make them beautiful. Its best to keep it simple and light. It also helps to remove all residue of it and not sleep in it at the end of the day.Why is makeup so bad for your skin?
    Hi,

Because it's a Mask that covers the Natural Skin,

hence, the Word: MASCARA, whichs means Mask.
it blocks your pores even i know that
Clogs pores... Use mineral make up is much better :)
it clogs up your pores then you get spots

but! use facial cleansing wipes by facial and then clean and clear cleansing liquid on a cotton bud, its amazing, kick out any dirt you didnt know you had. even after a shower you could use clean and clear and find dirt you assumed was washed off
it might clog your pores and chemicals...but a lot of makeup these days aren't bad for your skin
make-up is generaly ok for use in moderation, use too much and look like a tart and cause your skin to prematurely age, use too little and feel ugly (you shouldn't many beutiful people dont wear make-up, i think peeps look better without it too) so here's my points:

fine powder gets in pores and clogs em up

over application prevent oxgen getting to skin (no just your lungs that breathe)

combination of avove 2 points leads to skin wrinkleing due to cells dying and increase replication rate (if you photocopy a photcopy of a photocopy it dont always look like the original this works in cell replication (copying) too)

some mascaras and other products may contain chemicals which react or breakdown to make formhaldehyde (embarming fluid, the stuff they cover dead people in) this leads to cell death also since it is toxic to still living cells

also those mascaras which dont breakdown forming formhaldehyde tend to allow bacteria to grow in them so change the tube every few week if you dont use it all since bacteria + your eye = infection

but otherwise makeup is fine as far as im aware
    Not all of it is.

I personally hate it, but I know it's not all bad.

A lot of the stuff can clog your pores and some can dry out your face
Because it is made by men who are thinking of their wives ?
I disagree with that notion that makeup is bad for skin. If you try mineral makeup, such as Everyday Minerals, you would know that it does wonders for your skin texture.
it clogges your pores and restricts air flow, traps in bacteria, and hinders oil production.
it sometimes soacks up the antioxidants and clogs pores. if ur gonna wear make-up then wash it off like everynight and make sure that its ALL of.
It's not. Many products are actually really beneficial for the skin, particularly foundation/tinted moisturiser as they protect the skin from the elements (particularly UV damage). It's only not so good if you paste it on with a trowel and dont remove it properly at night.
    Always go natural
Clogs the pores and the additives scar the skin.
It's really not, it depends on what kind you use. Bare minerals are very good for your skin...
    Pretty name Charlotte!

    It's not the make-up itself.

It's if you wear it too thick. Try to apply it as light and natural as possible.

Brushes: Clean your make-up brushes with clarifyng shampoo. Clarifying shampoo won't mess up the bristles like other stuff. Or you can use shampoos like Iso Plus, which is designed to use while perming hair. This is to avoid bacteria spread.

Don't use brushes?: Use cotton balls instead, and freshly washed fingers for eyeshadow, lipstick, and gloss (or buy disposable eyeshadow swabs and discard after each use). But you can buy Simply Basics brushes for real cheap at Walmart.

Don't wear it too often or too long in a day: This is to give your skin a chance to breathe and not be clogged.

No matter how tired/sleepy you feel, take the time to wash it off before you go to bed. A good makeup remover is Cetaphil (Cetaphil does come in off-brands). I don't have dry skin, but I use it. Use the LIQUID kind. Put some on your face, like you're washing you face, and use a dry cloth to wipe it off. Don't get it in your eyes, but it won't sting. Cetaphil, especially if you don't use water, is an excellent deep cleanser. And DO avoid using that wash cloth after using it to clean makeup off your face until you launder it or handwash with laundry soap.

As long as you wear it in moderation, and don't apply too much when you do wear it, keep your brushes clean to avoid spread of bacteria that comes from your skin, cleanse skin with a fresh wash cloth, and don't sleep in makeup, you will be alright! :-)
It clogs up the pores, when the skin should be allowed to breathe.

If it does not get to breathe, sweat gets trapped, and causes spots.
i clogs up your pors if you leave it on over night so if you have it on try to reamove it with a good meke-up remover
    Because it cannot breath!!!!!!
I don't know but when I actually did put make up on I had loasta break outs. then i stopped and my skins all clear now..

    um yh lol x
It clogs up the pores in your face, and if not washed off everyday, will hold dirt and oil.
Make up is not bad for your skin, as long as it doesn't contain irritating chemicals.

If your skin is sensitive, the more chemicals are listed on the ingredient list, the worse it is for YOUR skin. Someone with an ';elephant'; skin will not be bothered. Things like essential oils, parfum, and certain oils are usually an overkill.

I would reccomend Dr. Hauschka brand (Whole Foods, online). Completely natural, mineral based make-up. It's very beautiful. And, it can actually be good for your skin.
Makeup isn't bad for you, unless you treat your face bad, or don't make sure that the things you use are safe for your type of skin. It's the fact that people don't know if what ingredients they are allergic to, have bad hygeine (as far as not washing their face when it's needed), and not knowing when enough is enough. You should never be fearful of makeup. First, make sure you know your skin type, and try and find the most basic cosmetics (like a powder or foundation). Start using products that are lighter, simple, and contain the most natural ingredients (like an organic tinted moisturizer). And most importantly have fun experimenting!!
make is bad for your skin if you do not wash or wipe it off before you go to bed
yh it blockes your pores and then youll realy need to use make up
make up isn't bad for your skin ! poor application and removal is , you need to cleanse tone and moisturise before you apply your makeup this prepares the skin and the moisturiser acts as a barrier , when you remove your makeup you again need to cleanse tone and moisturise , did you know wearing makeup can have positive affects , as well as helping to protect your skin from the elements , it can lift your mood and confidence , so go on slap it on , you know you want to !
Okay, I don't use make up, but trust me, I know this.

It is not the makeup but the bacteria. If you use a pad for powder and put that pad back in the powder, you have just created a breeding ground for bacteria. If, instead, you use cotton swabs or clean whatever you use, or have plastic between the pad/brush and the makeup, you will not promote bacterial growth. The bacteria on your skin creates pimples.
Makeup, like anything, has good and bad but first you need to take care of your skin...cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturing. Even mineral makeup has a cheap line and an expensive line but if your skin is healthy even the less expensive lines look good. Your makeup is ony as good as the skin underneath it. Exfoliation helps keep the pores unclogged so bacteria doesn't stay inside to become infected and turn into pimples. Don't forget sunscreen..most wrinkles and brown spots are caused by the sun.

Does makeup make acne worse (in the long run) if you have bad skin?

It depends on the formula of makeup you use and how thorough your cleansing routine.

I recommend using facial cloths for sensitive skin to completely remove makeup, THEN wash with a good facial cleanser and use a calming tonic or moisturizer for your skin type.

Check out Aveda (www.aveda.com) and Clinique for skin care and make up products that are geared for your skin.

Aveda's powder foundation is very beautiful, natural looking, and surprisingly enough gives almost full coverage. Just be sure to use a large loose brush instead of the sponge applicator they give you.

Clinique liquid foundations are also wonderful and very kind to skin. I do NOT recommend their powders however......if you go this route, try Bare Minerals Mineral Veil or even the Aveda powder foundation to set your makeup.

To further help you find products that will work best for you, check out the Acne Detective List at www.sageskincare.com, and check out the articles and product recommendations at www.dermadoctor.com.

If cruelty-free products are important to you, then you can double check the company at www.caringconsumer.com to find out whether they test on animals or not.

BTW - Aveda and Clinique do NOT test on animals....except the two-legged kind. :-)Does makeup make acne worse (in the long run) if you have bad skin?
some do and some don't. concealer/ foundation definately does make acne worse as it clogs the pores.

your best option is to buy those tinted treatment creams. brands like clearasil/ clean and clear/ neutregena ect all have thee treatments which mask the pimples and get rid of them.

if you do want to wear makeup, however, use ones which are 'non comedogenic' - this term means that they do not clog pores. opt for makeup which is not oily/ oil based. i know cover girl has a water based rage.

or use mineral powder its not meant to make acne worse

good luckDoes makeup make acne worse (in the long run) if you have bad skin?
Yes it truly and honestly does. Even though on every box it say, ';Does not clog pores.'; It does. Because we all sweat sometimes, ad sweating is what causes breakouts because when we sweat are pores become clogged with dirt, bacteria, and oil. That is why when you do strenuous activity you are supposed to wash your face. Now imagine wearing a foundation, on top of sweating. All of that foundation seeps into your pores because of the sweat causing MORE dirt, MORE bacteria, and MORE oil. No foundation or powder can prevent this.

Their are certain ways to help keep your skin clear. Bare Minerals is the only product that truly is light and dosen't clog your pores.

Clearusil Ultra is what I recommend to keep your skin healthy. I use their pore cleansing pads morning and night and this is all it takes to keep my skin clear.
Yes it does. The best thing to do at this point is focus on you skin one step at a time. I don't know what you have tried but I can guarantee you that it wont improve you situation. I've had acne for about 7 years and I know what it's like. Try doing the basic light eyeliner/ eyeshadow, a little gloss and blush ( ask the clerk is she reccomends anything that will not clog your pores. ) If you secide to wear regular blush or bronzer be sure to wash off before bed. I'm using oat meal as my new natural cleanser. I am seeingimprovements so far, day by day. Only wash face 2-3 times per day without over exfloiation and stay strong and be wary of fad acne ad's get your info first. Okay
Depending on the kind of make-up, look for some with natural, organic ingredients to put on skin. It's known, if make-up is old it can make you break out.
    yes
foundation does but eyeliner and stuff dont

    Maybelline Makeup bad?

I use maybeline eyeshadow and it tends to like just automaticaly come off my skin..Why is this happening is it bad???Maybelline Makeup bad?
Before applying eyeshadow, you should use a base cream. This is what keeps the eyeshadow from coming off. I use ';Lemon Aid'; primer from the brand ';Benefit'; sold in Macy's. Just tell them your looking for an eye cream base. So I would apply that with my fingers and then put foundation over it, then after start doing the eyeshadow. Trust me, it makes a difference in the look of your eyes and how long the makeup stays on. Oh and Maybelline is not a good brand. Mac has great eyeshadows. But don't use their powders because its very oily and bad for your skin. I use their eyeshadows cuz they have great colors but thats the only thing i use. for the rest of my face I use mineral makeup. Try Bare essentials or Jane Iredale. I hope this helps!Maybelline Makeup bad?
It's possible you have oily eyelids so the shadow doesn't stay on as well as it otherwise might. You could get a primer to help with that - Urban Decay and Too-Faced both make really good ones that make shadows that on for a long time. The other thing is a lot of the cheaper brands may not have the staying power or color payoff as the higher end ones do.
I don't know, you might just need a primer, try Urban Decay's Primer Potion. Another drugstore eyeshadow I really like is Wet n' Wild Ultimate Expressions in Fantasy Island. it comes in 8 or 9 colors for only $4.99 and the colors are really pigmented!

    hope i helped=]
Try putting a prima on before the eyeshadow, that will keep it in place. Or some people use foundation ont here eyelids, as that helps as a base.
one tip you can try is putting a liquid foundation on your eyelid before applying the eyeshadow that always works for me
That's probably because it's cheap, it doesnt last long because it doesnt cost much.

  • How bad is talc in makeup? ?

The other day I bought some mineral makeup from Mary Kay, but I was disappointed when I read the ingredients and the first one was talc! I have paid less money for a better talc free product so this is irritating. I thought The quality would be better for Mary Kay stuff. Then I started thinking, isn't talc a mineral and how bad is it for my skin? How bad is talc in makeup? ?
Initially people were lead to believe that talc was carcinogenic (I'm not sure if that was actually proven though) so some companies would say that their makeup is talc free so that people feel safer using it. Another problem with talc is it's the culprit behind that ghostly look to your makeup when you take a picture (you know how sometimes a foundation can look perfectly fine in person, but if you take a picture, it looks waaaay too light?). Talc free is definitely the way to go. Good luck! How bad is talc in makeup? ?
Talc in cosmetics is (hydrous) magnesium silicate and it is an absorbent ... so it will absorb the facial oils and thereby control shine. It gives the skin a smooth appearance. Talc is the first component in many, many cosmetics, expensive or inexpensive. If talc is used as per USP then it is safe to use the product. Mary Kay is a well-known name and I am sure they adhere to USDA regulations.
Simonevburden is correct there is no Evidence to prove talc is bad for you. And well stated!

Why If you look hard enough you will find everything is bad for you. Just another fact for those that believe mineral make up is good for you I know several people allergies that can't were mineral make up.
talc can give you cancer(im not sure which type of cancer though)

, but i do know you cant cure it.

if you put eyeshadow that contains talc, it can absorb through your eyes, %26amp; cuase cancer

there are youtube videos you can watch for more info
Talc in makeup isn't bad. Talc isn't bad for your skin.
nahh id think itd be bad cause physicians formula always says talc - free .

    Is Too much makeup bad?

Is too much makeup viewed as a bad thing for girls?

I understand it goes with your personality..but what does the outsider think?

Bad or Good or what?Is Too much makeup bad?
Usually, because up close you can tell they're hiding some flaw. Other times they generally look like whores.

Not everyone, but some people. If you can pull off minimal amounts of makeup and still look attractive, good for you. Is Too much makeup bad?
It depends on if it is done right or not. Too much for someone might not be enough for someone else.
    WELL DUHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's like dunking your face in powder and creme...........

YOU TURN OUT LOOKING LIKE A CLOWN OR

A MIME DEPENDING ON THE FACIAL TONE

    LOL.................................=D
Too much make up makes a girl look cheap. Just calling it ';too much'; is your answer.
no one wants a girl with ten pounds of make up on their face and when they take it off, you don't even recognize them.
i thinks alot of makeup is gross

especially when they look like a CAKE
It's their face..i honestly don't care what other ppl put on their face..

    Who looks bad without makeup?

i'm hoping i'm not the only one. is it possible to look naturally good? i've seen a lot of women pull it off i guess i'm doing something wrongWho looks bad without makeup?
I look terrible without make up ... but i NEVER wear it. I just can't bring myself to look in the mirror that long. UGHWho looks bad without makeup?
Eva Longoria. Have you seen her without makeup? I feel so much better after seeing her pic! Here are more...
I don't either...don't feel bad..When I'm not wearing makeup people ask me what's wrong. When I say nothing, why? They say I llok sick or tired....
I think I look ok without makeup. Not gorgeous, but ok.

I look to plain without eyeliner, or mascara. I dont think, I could live without these 2 things.
i look okay lol i mean i can wear no eye make up and i look great but i need foundation cause my skin is uneven

but so people wont get shocked by how you look without makeup dont put that much on in the first place like the smokey eye is for NIGHT TIME not for day [some girls do it] its too muchh
some people but it depends how much you put on and if you wear it on all the time people get used to it so when you dont have any on its like WHOA lol
There isn't a single human being that looks good 100% without wearing makeup... You can have a natural look and still look good.. u need to apply concealor, it covers dark circles, pimples, and just add a little blusher on ur cheeks, a natural peachy /pink would do... it evens out ur skin tone, a colorless lipbalm... now THIS is what i call a NATURAL look... (this is what i call the morning look) ...

if u're STILL insisting on looking good without MAKEUP... just take care of ur skin, use facial exfoliators... sleep well at night, 8-9 hours is good... apply cucumber on ur eye-lids for 5-10 mins... drink lots of water, eat plenty of veggie's and fruits... AND EXERCISE!! you will FEEL and LOOK good... trust me :D

    Hope this helped ...
Some people have naturally really nice skin and not blemishes dark long eyelashes and lovely lips, but not many people have these qualities..unfortunately i have NONE of those qualities!!! and i look AWFUL without make up too!!! You're not doing anything wrong, you're either born with it or your not..i was not but its something most people have got to live with so i wouldnt worry about it!!!

    :D xxxxxx
i'm still cute just plain looking, lol i think make up enhances ur beauty

gosh i saw the celebs w/o makeup and that reallly made me feel good thanks for that link!!!
    Not meeeee. :)
WELL I ONLEY LOOK REALLY EXTREMLY GOOD WITH ALOT OF EYE MAKEUP BUT I HAVE REALLY ROSIECHEEKS AND LONG WAVY BROWN HAIR
oh trust me your not the only one.

    i look terrible without makeup.

makeup is like my mask :)
sometimes it depends on the face of a woman or girl. but my opinion is that all woman and girls look preety with or without make-up..
    ME!*
Some people are luckier than others. Some are lucky and abuse makeup anyway. You're not doing anything wrong by wearing it if you think you need it. Its best to go lighter and more natural though.
Some women go for the no make up look

i don't look dat bad just tired =( and super pale i don't even need the flash on my camera lol
I do! my friends say I look really pretty, but when I posted a pic without makeup on my myspace, people thought I was a five year old...
Britany Spears looks horrible without make up (Compare the 2 pictures!) http://www.methodshop.net/tech/articles/

So of course you're not the only one!

A lot of women are naturally pretty. Just don't get down on yourself about it.
    look good naturally is possible

its when ur wear makeup all the time and think u look good wit it

and ur not use to seeing ur self wit out it

so u think u dont look good

    dats wat i think
Ha, I look bad even with makeup on. But it helps a little, haha. Yeah, it's possible to look naturally good, but you have to be really lucky!
I don't look bad with out makeup because I don't use foundation all over my face------------

    foundation discolors the skin
    I look really bad!!

If someone said your makeup looks good, but you're not wearing any makeup, is that good or bad?

its good because someone is complementing you on how pretty you look with out makeupIf someone said your makeup looks good, but you're not wearing any makeup, is that good or bad?
    good.

since makeup makes you look pretty, then it means they think you're naturally pretty.

Like this girl I know has really looooong eyelashes, and I'm like what kind of mascara do you use? you have pretty eyelashes, but she wasn't wearing any makeup/mascara.

So yeah, it's a good thing.

(:If someone said your makeup looks good, but you're not wearing any makeup, is that good or bad?
Wow. lol. I think it's a good thing. Your natural beauty must be flawless.
yea that is really good. that means your naturally really pretty.
    THATS REALLY GOOD
hahahahaha i completely agree with rennyy
yes, thats good. you have natural beauty then.

Is it bad to use tester makeup?

like in beauty stores or counters where they have tester lipstick, lipgloss, mascara, etc.Is it bad to use tester makeup?
only if it hasn't been used. I don't try on anything - hats, gloves, makeup. People are disgusting. Is it bad to use tester makeup?
It is only bad to use tester makeup when you use the applicator that comes with the bottle. For example, using the supplied lipgloss stick that comes with the lipgloss that is open for testing. Try using the provided q-tips and cotton balls to apply the makeup. If they are none available, it's not worth it!
personally i wouldn't use them at all. someone may have double dipped but there is always germs from ppl touching. it like grocery store samples if they get coughed on or something to that nature or even touched at the sides when others got their samples. GROSS.
heres the scoop oils and corn starch and so on provide the food for bacteria your own make-up is bad after a short period of time check the packages for warnings and dont share make-up with anyone
They always have clean, one use makeup applicators, use those!
tester lipstick/gloss are made to be used individually..how stupid are you..
Can you say where it has been, who used it and what was on their fingers/face when they dabbled in it? I wouldn't use it!!

Is makeup actually really bad for your skin or do people just say that?

i dont wear alot of makeup because apparently its bad for your skin (according to my mum) but does she just say that cause she doesnt want me looking like a tart? What actually happens if your Poures do get blocked up? Is it really as bad as they make out?

xIs makeup actually really bad for your skin or do people just say that?
yh is it they showed it on gok wans programme miss naked beauty 2008. they have like 14 women and they all used make up and they showed how their skin aged like hell cos of the make up it was really horrible so yes make up can ruin your skinIs makeup actually really bad for your skin or do people just say that?
because she applies it correctly.Gothgowl is not 100% correct...makeup does not ruin your skin. Its how a person applies and how a person takes care of their skin while wearing the makeup. Also,Choosing the right kind of makeup for your skin type is also very important. Report Abuse

It can ruin it if you don't take care of your skin and apply it correctly. Report Abuse

It depends on which kind of make up. For example, cream foundation is pretty heavy so it could be bad for a teenager since cream foundation is designed for older skin but hey it works for me anyways!

This whole business about it clogging pores comes from two different factors.

One, is from cross-contamination/not cleaning make up brushes or renewing make up sponges which harbor alot of bacteria causing breakouts.

Two, alot of foundations carry mineral oil, something used to polish wood or give a sheen to them. It basically sits right on top of the skin, and there for clogs pores. Plus alot of mineral foundations have talc, which doesn't let the skin breathe what so ever, therefore clogs pores too.

So it depends on the ingredients, and the keeping clean of the applicator!

*I forgot to add, as long as you dont fall asleep in your foundation you should be ok, and remove it correctly with a make up remover.
Makeup isn't good for the skin if it is not followed up with a proper removing and skincare regime. Some cosmetics which are made of inferior substances clog your skin. For me, I always make sure I spend alot more on my powder and eyeshadows (very delicate eye area). And I spend alot on skincare products and facials. I used to spend alot on cosmetics and neglected skincare so my skin was really bad at one time and I could not even go out with a yellowish face with no makeup on. Now, thankfully, I don't need to rely on powders etc when I go out as I take excellent care of my skin. It helps me save alot of $$$ on cosmetics.
Makeup is not bad for your skin. With the correct makeup application...being applied to your face %26amp; makeup always being removed at night when you go to bed. You'll be fine...

Always.I mean always apply makeup to your skin when its clean and always make sure you clean your skin before applying makeup. To protect your skin from blemishes or acne outbreaks that can happen as a result of oil or old makeup remaining on your skin and clogging your pores.Makeup is not purposely bad,Its how you use it and apply it.
It depends on what makeup you use. If you use the cheap stuff it will be worse for your skin than others. Some makups include moisturizers and minerals which actually promote the skin cells on your face. Some like Neutrogena have benozine in it with actually heals acne. So to say all makeup is bad for you is very presumptuous. Just be concious of whats in your makeup and you'll be ok.
If you're buying the right make up, it won't make your skin worse at all. There are actually some make up products out there than improve the appearance of your skin. Make up looks best on clean, moisturized skin, so make sure you're using the right products for you.Neutrogena has oil free foundation with SPF in it, along with ingredients to actually help you fight break outs while you're wearing it. Look for it in your local drug store. However, there are some products that can clog your pores which in turn does create break outs. Look for the words ';hypoallergenic';, ';non-comedogenic'; and ';oil free'; on the make up you buy. This will ensure that the make up you're buying won't clog your pores, doesn't have any oil in it, and it doesn't have any unnecessary fragrances or minerals in it that will contribute to pimples. Powder is just that. It's just powder. It lets your skin breathe a lot more than foundation. However, foundation does give you a lot more coverage than just powder alone. Make sure you're washing your face free of make up at the end of the day before you go to bed. If you sleep with your make up on, you have a higher chance of clogging your pores, and therefore more pimples.
    Makeup isn't too horrible-

It doesn't help if you have skin issues though,

and if you don't wash it off, it can lead to clogged pores,

but I always uses Physician's Formula which can actually help you skin.

Some other product brands are Bare Minerals and Clinique if you end up wearing makeup late on down the road...
if you were globs of it, it is but if you where just light foundation, a little lipgloss/lipstick and some eyeshadow it will be fine BUT NEVER EVER WHERE MAKEUP TO BED! Wash it off with a wash cloth and cool water before bed and lather with a cool moistureizer. But I would use hypoallergenic which is lighter on the skin and is less likely to cause acne :)

    good luck!
its not bad. dont pack it obv.

but its not bad i watched a doctor thing on channel 4

and the doctor told the teen its not bad.

    he said milk is?

    and other thing i forgot

but unless you have exema or something it wont do harm

dont pack it over spots tho!

and actually the girl that said cheap one is bad.

thats wrong its was on E! that makeup artists were (sneakily) using cheap foundations ect.
its not really bad for the skin i mean not for everybody. i for one noticed that since i started using make up, my skin became smooth, maybe because of some chemicals in the make up that can actually do some good in your skin. other people have different experience, like they have break outs or their skin became oily etc. but if you really wanna try make up, i suggest you try the most skin friendly brands like neutrogena or clinique(fragrance free and so hypo allergenic). hpe this helped!
It does clog your pores but using great moisturizers and washing your face with good face wash would generally unclog your pores and will help keep your skin healthy. It is all in the matter of how well you clean your face and whether or not you have a good skin care routine to keep your skin from breaking out.
Yes, it really is bad for you. That is why so much effort is spent on cleaning products to get it off, and out of the pores of your skin.

Makeup should only be used to hi-lite your features, not to hide them, or make new ones.
It Is Actually Bad For Your Skin.

But If You Use Sensible Amounts, And Always Take It Off, Clense And Moustories, Then You Should Be Fine (:

    Hope This Helps, Good Luck.

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year %26lt;3 x
Its not bad for your skin as long as you don't use too much and remove it at night.

If your pores get clogged then you get spots and blackhead.. Eek.
Just wash your face afterwards. Buy a makeup remover if you have to.

If you take care of your skin, there shouldn't be a problem.
    It is.

    It clogs

    your pores

    and it can prevent

    breakouts on your skin.
    It is bad.
as long as you remove it than its not a problem

Is is bad to leave on makeup for the night?

Yes! its the worst thing for your skin, The makeup will clog your pores and trust me, you;'ll wake up the next day with pimples and blackheads. Always wash your makeup off the night before, and the best thing to use is baby oil because it gets everything off and makes your skin softer. Lipstick/gloss is okay to leave on, but not any eye/cheek/nose makeup. Is is bad to leave on makeup for the night?
it is very bad to leave makeup on over night because you get bumps and or pimplesIs is bad to leave on makeup for the night?
I wouldn't leave it on for the night a lot. It is bad for your skin. If you go to a wedding or sometime type of occasion where you get how late it woun't be that bad if you just go to bed. If you aren't that tired then you could but otherwise take it off when you wake up.

I wouldn't make it a regular thing though. Once in a while wont hurt.
    Yes...Your skin needs to breath.
    yes,very bad.
Yes, it clogs pores and ages the skin.
very bad. it gave me breakouts.
It isn't good for your skin. But not everyone is acne prone. I just don't like to get it on my pillowcases.
one night is not going to make or break you. try not to make it a habit, though, as the dirt from the day, oil, makeup, etc. from the day will end up clogging pores.
Yes, it can make your skin break out.
yes it is. you might have a break out
it depends on what kind of makeup you wear and what kind of skin you have. If you have sensitive skin and are prone to breakouts then its a bad idea. If your skin is normal and your careful to use hypoallergenic makeup then its fine. i sleep in my makeup every night and have never had a problem. be careful if you wear contacts or have sensitive
Yes, then you get all wrinkley!
Always take off ALL your makeup before you go to sleep. More especially foundation because you want your skin to breathe after having makeup on all day. But also keeping mascara on all night can make it hard if you go in the morning to apply it again and it will be hard. You'll have to remove the makeup anyway because even if it rubs off there will still be makeup on you. So you might as well take ALL of it off so you don't break out or get any rashes.

I know sometimes it seems easier to just sleep with it on, but get you a good eye makeup remover and a good skin cleanser and you will thank yourself later.

    Enjoy!
yes. u'll have a break out.
No, I have done it my whole life. I wash my face when I get up, and have been acne free my whole life. Depends on your skin type I guess. I find more cleansers that break us out! Your body has natural ways it takes care of itself. don't fall into the hype.
    yes because it causes acne
    yes
Yes. If you leave it on the oils from the makeup and your skin will give you major breakouts. Don't do it. Washing it off at night will only take 30 seconds.

How long does it take for makeup to go bad?

masks, cleansers, foundations, moisturizers, etc. thanks! How long does it take for makeup to go bad?
You wudnt think that makeup has an expiring date!

Your mascara has to been chaged every three mnths- like a toothbrush, so when ur shopping grab a mascara %26amp; toothbrush %26amp; urll never forget! Cleansers %26amp; moisturizers will have it written on the bottle. Maskes %26amp; foundations can be kept for a year (but u mite have used it by then) But i think its best to change them every 6mnths if not all gone. Eyeliners- pencil/liquid- is just like ur mascara, they shud be changed every 3-4mnths. Everything else just needs to b changed reguarly- i think about every 6mnths if u use them same colour, like eyeshadow or blushHow long does it take for makeup to go bad?
It really depends on the product and the ingredients. But a general rule of thumb for the products you're asking about is about a year. Especially for things like cleansers, masks and moisturizer. All that stuff breaks down and is less effective after a year.

People say you should toss foundation in about that time as well, but I have used some longer than that. If it smells fine and it is not breaking you out and giving you the coverage you need, keep using it.

Mascara is the only thing I'm really firm about: toss it within three months.
I keep liquids (liners, foundation, creams, mascara) for six months. The powders I keep for one year. I have MS related cognitive problems, so certain short term things and numbers do not stick with me. I just buy little labels and mark the month and year that it was purchased and stick it on everything.
most people don't know but make-up has an expiration date

loose all eye mascara after a year the latest (it can grow bacteria and damage your eyes)

usually the powder stuff will hold longer but as long as you keep your make up brushes clean (they sell a special cleaner that you dab on the brush and will dry)

creams and liquid products will ';tell'; you by either drying up or watering down..when they loose their consistency they got to go...;)

    eyes lips face makeup!!

    Why is makeup bad?

wut can makeup really do to u? y shouldnt i wear it? y shouldnt everyone wear it? is it a cool as everyone ses? is there a dark side? Why is makeup bad?
As long as you look at the labels, makeup shouldn't be bad.

When looking for foundation, concealer, or powder, make sure that the product label states that it is ';oil-free';, ';non-acnegenic'; , and/ or ';non-comedogenic';. This ensures that the foundation will not clog pores or cause breakouts. If you have dry or sensitive skin, also make sure that you look for products that say they are ';hypoallergenic'; (allergy-tested and non-irritating ingredients)

As for eyemakeup, please choose carefully. You're eyes are one of the most delicate organs and if you put on eyemakeup that contains harmful chemicals, it can damage your sight and lead to infections. Remember to look for ';opthamologist tested'; or ';safe for sensitive/contact lens wearers'; when purchasing eyeshadow, eyeliner, or mascara.

*By the way, makeup CAN be bad if you wear too much of it. Not only will it be rough on your skin, but it can really make you look BAD. Only put enouggh makeup on to bring out your natural beauty - don't just slather a whole bunch of it on your face or else in this case, makeup really is bad.Why is makeup bad?
most people put it on where it looks bad, and it holds your pores shut making skin oilier and dirtier then it should be causing pimples
mine is good, i use bare minerals by bare escentuals, it is 100% pure natural minerals, it doesn't get absorbed into the body like liquid make-up, it stays on the surface. it is the only brand recommended by the national skincancer foundation, because it is actually good for the skin.
Well, makeup can clog pores, for one thing. But if you remove your makeup at the end of each day, and keep your face clean, that shouldn't be a problem. Some people think if you wear too much makeup you're fake (rightly so), so it's best to only wear as much as you need to cover up blemishes and highlight your best facial features. Not everyone needs to wear it because some people are happy with how they look without enhancements and cover ups. And I've never heard anyone call makeup ';cool,'; but it comes in handy when I want to accent my cheekbones, or make my eyes stick out, or hide a blemish. If you keep it natural and take it off at the end of the day, there is no harm in wearing makeup.
if ur gonna use it then use mineral make up
use organic make up, expensive but some brands are worth it...also use natural products, ie yogurt, lemons, cucumbers, etc for skin care
the ony bad side to it is that foundation could clog your pores and give you bad acne. otherwise its good to express yourself. some ppl over do it and turn themselvs into clowns. the hide there identity under it. thats another problem but its not the make up that couses that prob. its the ppl
    it is not bad!! wut?!
lol makeups not bad...if ur parents told u tht its just because they dnt want u wearing it... but its not bad and the only dark side is it gets smeared and u look like a goth bt other than tht its all gooood
    Make up is not Bad.

You will need a make up sometime if you want to look a little polished and fresh.Just a touch of mascara and glosses will dramatically change your look.

skin color and skin type is important, try a sample and consult what's best for you, before you buy makeup product.

stay natural, not too much, it is the key.

It will break you out if you use an expired makeup, or not for your skin type or you are not take it off before bed.
Makeup is to enhance the real you, not create a new you. If you wear too much you end up looking scary, and your skin can suffer (think blemishes and oily skin). But if you wear it right then you can look great- just remember to wash it off before you go to sleep!

    Hope this helps! :D
okay well that depends i mean if you're going to school and you were like clown make up then that's considered bad but overall make up isn't something i would consider bad.
Makeup (especially liquid foundation) can clog your pores and cause breakouts. It also contains small amounts of chemicals that can be harmful to your body. My mom always told me that mascara would affect my eyes, and over the last say 6 years that I've been wearing makeup, it has! But don't worry, I was a makeup junkie. Go natural and don't put on too much! A little won't kill! =D Hope I could help and goodluck!

Why's it bad if you don't take off your makeup before you sleep?

I always take off my makeup ( thats when i wear it ) before i sleep, but i was just wonderin what happenes if you dont. I just do it because it makes your eyes look better the next time you wear make up and for hygine. Why's it bad if you don't take off your makeup before you sleep?
I always take mine off too, just because it feels cleaner. If you consistently wear foundation 24/7 then it WILL clog your pores and you will mostly likely break out. Also, consistently wearing mascara 24/7 will deteriorate your eyelashes (it eats away at them because of the chemicals in it).

You can sleep in lip gloss, eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc., I just find it to be more comfortable when you don't!

    Good luck.

xxWhy's it bad if you don't take off your makeup before you sleep?
your pores open up and breathe when you are asleep, but instead of breathing they will be clogged with dirt and oil you have accumulated on your face over the day, plus the makeup. So the pores get infected and a pimple forms.
Leaving make-up on all night can do a lot of things. It can leave stains on your bedsheets. Also, make-up can clog your pores, and if left on, other things, like dirt and lint and oil will ';stick'; to the make-up on your face, encouraging clogged pores, acne and other skin irritations.

it's a good practice to always wash your face before bed (with or without makeup) and apply moisturizer before bed.
I think it may be your choice, and how good your complexion is. I never wash my face before bed and I have never had a pimple or break out. (knock on wood)
Do you like to make-up your bed with your lip stick , rouge , etc ?
because it just is and it's kinda of gross, you going to wake up and clean it off and add more uhh yea and + your face needs to breathe and get some air without all that stuff cloging your pores.

    %26lt;3
Because the pillow rubbing against your face can grind the makeup into your face, which can clog your pores! It can also get ground into your pillowcase, so even if you do wash your face the next night, the makeup and oil that was ground into your pillowcase earlier can get rubbed off back onto your face!

Also, unless perhaps you have really dry skin, it's best to wash your face at night to not only wash off the makeup but also any dirt, oil, etc. that accumulates on your face during the day which would eventually cause clogged pores.

Plus, if you use any products at night such as moisturizers, acne treatments, eye creams, etc., those products can more easily penetrate your skin if your skin isn't already covered in makeup!

Some people say that you don't need to wash mineral makeup off at night because it doesn't clog your pores and it won't hurt you. However, I still do because my face is always a greasy muddy mess at the end of the day, and I use several products at night (an acne cream and eye cream, and a mask a few times a week) so I want those products to soak in good!
It clogs your pores and makes you break up. All that make up on your face goes in your pores and infects them.
When you sleep, your skin absorbs everything on it, including your make-up. A lot of make-up has not-good-for-you ingredients. Would you want your make-up to be absorbed into your skin? I think not.

It can cause breakouts, dryness, etc.

You're better off putting anti-aging, or anti-acne stuff or whatever so your skin absorbs it overnight.
no because your face will break out with all the oily particles on your face.
i never take off my makeup before i go to bed...i know its supposed to be better for your skin...but i have never gotten a pimple yet
Cause makeup limits the air flow to your skin so there fore it clogs your pores and gives you acne. Also you get **** on your pillow and that aint cool
Personally Speaking... You Can Break Out Over The Next Few Days.. It Leaves Makeup Stains On Your Pillow Case.. Im Sure There Are better Answers Out There LoL...
    everyones skin is different.

just because one person might not get a zit from not washing doesnt mean you won't.

    and BREAK OUTS!!
Washing your face every night before helps your complexion. If you sleep in your make-up all the time, your face is more prone to break-out, be blotchy and uneven, and oily.
Its bad for your pores. Besides don't you want to pamper your skin and keep it young looking by cleaning and then putting on yummy facial products. Think about all the icky that gets all over your pillow too!
eww... it clogs up your skin and your skin looks all dull the next morning. and eye make-up like gets into your eyeballs when you sleep... yuck. i hate that.
The makeup gets all over your pillow, and unless you change your pillow-case every night, it could get pretty nasty. Also, your pores need to breath throughout the night, so cleaning your face is always a good idea before you go to bed. Clean your teeth too.

  • Why does my makeup always look bad/ smudgy/ wierd?

you should go to mac cosmetics and get this stick. its called Beige-ing. You apply it before you put your eye makeup on and it holds everything in place until you scrub it off. it is the best!! I would never go without it again! Why does my makeup always look bad/ smudgy/ wierd?
if you're talking about foundation looking weird it's most likely that you have on too much stuff. try using covergirl trublend whip foundation .. its light and covers well and press powder.

if you're talking about you're eye makeup, try using a primer before applying eyeshadow. it helps everything stay in place.

if you're eyeliner is smudgy a primer or apply a shadow over the liner to set it in.

hope this helped. =]Why does my makeup always look bad/ smudgy/ wierd?
Go to your local make up store and tell them your problem. They should be able to find make up to fit with your skin type. It really isnt as easy as going to walmart and picking out random make up...it doesnt always work. Also, if you have time play with your make up and find out what works best for you when applying it. Just have fun with it.
Maybe because you're using a bad brand.
maybe you are putting to much on that may be way i hope this helps .
b/c you're putting too much on. use bare minerals.

Try Jane Iredale cosmetics. I used to work at a dermatologist office that was thinking about selling it.

    ';Plastic Surgeons were the first to recognize the benefits of the line and were confident enough with it to use it on skin that had just undergone laser resurfacing. It not only effectively and safely covered the redness but also provided essential sun protection';

    I hope that helps!
Cover fx is a full coverage make up designed for problem skin and scars. It comes in a large range of shades also.
I have really bad acne too. I wont come out of my room or let anyone see me unless i put alot of cover up on. Wash your face first to get rid of dirt. Then apply moisturizer so that the makeup doesn't affect your dry skin and it sticks on longer. Use loreal dream matte mousse underneath first (apply it all over for even tone), then cover the dark spots up with nutrogena medicated foundation, then on top of that put nutrogena medicated powder (put on with a brush) it covers my dark scars and acne really good, plus it gets rid of them while its on! Good luck (:

Is makeup bad for 13 year olds?

hi my name is sky and i have massicar and eye shawodor and lip gloss is make up bad for me my skin break outsd alot but my boyfriend thinks i look hot when i wear itIs makeup bad for 13 year olds?
do not wear make up for the sake of your bf, for goodness sake! if you have good skin, stay away from make up. long term usage of make up would eventually strip off your natural skin colour. and if make up if causing your skin to breakout, chuck them away and steer clear of them. spend your money on skin clearing products instead. Is makeup bad for 13 year olds?
    :O

wow dont worry about what your

    thinks

wear makeup because you want to

and if you have a beautiful natural face theres no need for makeup

    try to keep it plain

    %26lt;3 Report Abuse

Make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturize twice a day, and exfoliate about once a week. You should only wear a little mascara and lip gloss because it does wreak your skin.
no as long as you wash and put moisturizer on your face before u wear make up you shouldn't break out in pimples or anything because your pores are clean, if you continue applying makeup without washing your face often then your pores will become clotted and turn into pimples, apart from this wearing make-up cannot harm you, unless you are somehow allergic to the brand you are using. make up isn't bad for you :)
i think you shouldn;t wear make up from your 13 you will soon understand how boring it is if you want don;t wear it all the time only in special cases!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah you're still growing and putting on makeup at your age is very bad for you- your skin will breakout more often and when you get older, you'll have marks on your skin from the acne. and your boyfriend who like you for who you are not how you look like.
sky you sholud'nt do it for your boyfriend do it for you but you may just need a new kind of makeup is all

Why does makeup show up bad in pictures?

whenever i see pictures of me at parties or indoors they look horribly white and horrible makeup even though i dont really wear THAAT much makeup, just eyeliner mascara, foundation and some lipstick, sometimes i look like a ghost and scare myself when i look at my pictures im serious :S i do put on a lot of light foundation but in real it looks fine and in pics, horrible!!Why does makeup show up bad in pictures?
Is your foundation the right color for you? If it's too light, then that might be the problem.

Camera flashes tend to make you look washed out, so try using a matte bronzer - to add back some color that the foundation may have taken away - blush, and an contouring shade.

Note: concealers and powders that say ';illuminating'; tend to have particles that reflect light. So it may look fine in normal, everyday lighting, but once the camera flashes it makes you look even more light. Why does makeup show up bad in pictures?
No worries, its probably just the flash of the camera washing you out.

Bright flashes on digital cameras wash EVERYBODY out.

Theres not much you can do about it.
    go a shade darker.

    (:

How do i put alot of makeup on without it looking bad?

i see alot of girls at my school who put on kinda alot of eyeliner and mascara and it looks like gorgeous but when i try, i look goth....

how do i do that??How do i put alot of makeup on without it looking bad?
Play With It, Wear Some Eyeliner But Not Too Much.

Then Put A LOTTTT Of Mascara (:

Then Mix You're Eye Shadows (:

Hope This Helpss (:How do i put alot of makeup on without it looking bad?
Wear a thin line of deep black pencil eyeliner on your bottom lashes or waterline (Sephora flashy liner, black works amazingly. It's really smooth and easy to put on) and liquid on top (L'oreal Liquid in marker form, works great and is also easy to use) in a thicker line. Then use tons of mascara on your top lashes (Covergirl Professional in Very Black, Waterproof). Set your eyeliner with black eyeshadow using an eyeliner brush (ELF, $1 at target or the dollar store). Then coat your bottom lashes once. And ta-da! Dramatic eye makeup without the goth look. :)
that's a big mistake a lot of people are wearing. some people can pull off the way too much eyeliner look, but others can't. the way to get that same effect without looking goth is putting liner on the bottom lid, and the outside corner of the top lid. COAT AND COAT AND COAT very black mascara on top and bottom lashes. wear shadow (but don't go past the crease) actually i suggest searching for the kim kardashian smokey eye effect makeup tutorial on youtube and watch how she wears the shadows and eyeliner. this tutorial's third and part of the fourth videos are G R E A T!!!!!!!!
    not trying to be mean..

    but less is actually more.

not only that...';those girls'; who put on or shall i say cake on a lot of makeup are going to have skin problems sooner or later..if they don't already have. it's best to be natural..but if you wear any makeup at all..

it looks better when you enhance your features by putting just a tad bit on. it makes a huger difference.
play with it. put aside an hour one day and play with some eyeliner to see what looks good. I used to think i just couldn't pull off eyeliner but then i started playing with it some and it looks a whole lot better.
Start by practicing with a fine thin line if that does not work continue adding to the previous line and hopefully you get a look that you can live with.

    Good Luck!
wear alot of mascara but not alot of eyeliner

    it runss
    It's not possible. Seriously.

  • Is wearing makeup bad if u have acne?

Some makeup can actually make you break out moreIs wearing makeup bad if u have acne?
I am prone to acne problems myself but I wear make-up. It's simply a matter of choosing the right stuff for your skin and remembering to take care of your skin.

That includes washing and moisturizing your skin twice a day (once when you get up and once before you go to bed to remove any make-up and oil build-up). Try using an oil-free moisturizer and facial cleanser, like Mary Kay Combination to Oily Timewise skin care, my personal favorites.

And, instead of a heavy foundation, which can cause major break-outs, try a light-weight tint instead. Mary Kay offers one with an SPF 15 in it. Yeah, it can be a bit pricey, but I've found that shelling out a little now helps in the long run. Or you can try Almay Smart Shade, which is just as good.

To set your make-up without feeling like you're wearing a clay mask, lightly dust on a mineral powder when you're done the tint and cheeks; I find this helps cut down on the shine and ensures a bit more durablity in my make-up, especially when I need to do an oil-blot half-way through the day.

Hope this helps. Is wearing makeup bad if u have acne?
No make-up is not always bad ..

There are a few factors to help improve skins condition whilst using foundation

    1. Is try and use a natural or mineral foundation

2.Make sure your skin is well looked after eg. Washing cleansiing toning etc..

3.Invest in a good quality foundation with minimal ammounts of chemicals

    4. Dont cake it but use a concealer to cover the red spots first .

Hopefully this will help you . :D
yes if you wear makeup with talc and so on in it which clogs pores worse and breaks you out worse. also there are alot of other irritents if you have sensitive skin, i wear bare minerals makeup and it dosent break me out and the mineral makeup at walmart is bad it still breaks me out

this is a vegan makeup site that i order from: simply~minerals.com

it is as good as are minerals but very cheap! ship as a gift for free shipping also! get the acne free kit at walmart too it worked for my acne i tried everything and after proactiv broke me out worse...i tried this and it cleared up everything! seriously
Well it can be if you use makeup that makes your skin break out more or if you leave it on too long and don't let your skin breath.

There is actually makeup that is made to help acne!!

I say as long as its not makeup that makes you break out and you let your skin breath (Don't wear makeup when you are just sitting home, don't wear your makeup to bed...) then makeup is fine!!
to much can clog them and make them worse/take longer to heal. i had acne really bad so i just used a powder to make them not so noticeable (rather then a concealer). that way they have time to air out, breath and heal. also, try the Clearasil Ultra Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream. you can by it at walmart and it works wonders! within 3 days my skin was clear! hope this helps
it depends on what you use. if you use bad quality makeup then maybe but i use loreal mineral foundation and i swear by it! it covers evrything but doesn't look fake. i don't know how they do it! Its only like 15 or 20 dollars and it lasts a long time and toally works! since its mineral makeup it wont clog pores!
It depends on what kind of makeup and what brand. There is some that will actually help. I would recommend Nuetrogena if you have acne, its the least pore clogging. Just make sure you wash it off every night. Try not to use a lot of makeup though because it can clog pores.
    sometimes it can make you

break out. if you decide to wear

makeup make sure you take it off

    properly, moisturize your skin first,

and look for hypoallergenic and oil

free versions of whatever you're going

    to buy.

    :)
no but if you wear oily makeup like liquid foundations then yea and itll b a disastor cuz itll take like a week to clear the breakout you get from it up. good luck :)
i have acne and i have wore makeup it never bother me but everybody skin is different.
if u dont wash it off at night, then in the morning, ur face will become like the amazon. but other than that...i think its fine.
yes, because it clogs your pores and creates more oil which creates acne.
If you dont wash off the cheap makeup it is!!!

    Peace foreva
not necessarily, if you have acne though try to use make up that says oil free.

ARE THESE INGREDIENTS IN MINERAL MAKEUP BAD FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN?

Active Ingredient: Zinc Oxide (5.196%). Other Ingredients: Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Caprylyl Glycol, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Phenoxyethanol, Silica, Sodium Dehydroacetate.ARE THESE INGREDIENTS IN MINERAL MAKEUP BAD FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN?
I don't know what company makes the mineral makeup with these ingredients. I used Bare Escentuals and I haven't seen all of this in theirs.ARE THESE INGREDIENTS IN MINERAL MAKEUP BAD FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN?
Bismuth Oxychloride is bad stuff. It can clog pores and cause serious itching.
In a way, yes. Some of those chemicals can dry out your skin. It's okay if you have extremely oily skin that's acne prone, but if your skin is in the ';so so'; area I would just go with something that is good for acne.
Nope...the Zinc, Titanium and Iron are all providing a physical sunblock so that is actually good for acne prone skin to help prevent scaring...If you are having concerns though you may want to check out the Mica with your derm...it provides light reflection to perfect the look of skin, but it irritates some people...
Nope. Mineral cosmetiques are actually healthy for the skin becuz of the nutrients, plus, they don't clog pores becuz the (grains) are much bigger than those you find in conventional makeup.

Is makeup bad for your skin??

I had a teacher who told me that makeup is good for you because it protects your skin from the elements, but is that true? It sounds strange to me.Is makeup bad for your skin??
there bad for it, they clog your pores. Is makeup bad for your skin??
depends on what kind of makeup
well if its oily makeup yes but if not then prob'ly not. There is a makeup called Bare Minerals which is a natural powder. That kind of makeup isnt bad for your skin.
I WEAR MAKE UP. AS LONG AS YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR FACE THEN YOU SHOULD BE FINE
depends on what exactly is in the makeup... bare minerals is good for your skin and has spf in it...other makeups have chemicals that are bad for your skin. It is good that they protect from the elements, but they add whole new elements to your skin that are probably worse for you!
I suppose it could act as a barrier to the elements in some respect as the elements are fully reaching your face, also t hides a multitude of sins so that makes it good too.

On the other hand make-up can block your pores if not taken off properly every night which can cause spots which can be bad!
alot of cheap make-up can clog pores and be harmful. less is more. use a natural or organic make-up line.
sme can harm your skin but most doesn,t
Mmm, yea I think you're teacher was looking for an excuse to wear to much. Generally make up prevents your skin from breathing which is bad no matter if it does protect you from the elements. If you wear make-up make sure you wash it off at night. And even if you don't make sure you wash your face every night and use moisturizer, also drink plenty of water to help out your skin.
Good quality non-comodegenic makeup should be ok, but heavy foundations that don't allow the skin to breathe are not good to use daily.

It is not true that makeup protects your skin from the elements, unless it contains antioxidents and sunscreen ingredients. HTH.
yes actually it is true. It does protect your skin from harm-full elements in the air. if you are wearing the right type for your skin.

It's always good practice though to remove makeup before you go to bed and give your face some breathers, your pores also need to breathe, removing makeup at night helps, also you can get pimples it your face can't breathe.
There are a few potential dangers regarding the use of cosmetics. One such danger is the use of old mascara. Some mascaras contain an ingredient that breaks down to produce formaldehyde. The formaldehyde prevents the growth of bacteria. Aged mascara, however, may no longer be producing formaldehyde, allowing bacteria to proliferate. Blindness is one possible result if the bacteria-laden mascara gets into the eye. For this reason, it is often recommended to replace a tube of mascara every few months; opinions among experts vary from between three and six. Moreover, formaldehyde is a powerful preservative that may interfere in the natural cleansing and purging functions of one's eyes and eyelids.

Other dangers include flammable hairspray, sharing cosmetics with others, possibly spreading disease, and the application of cosmetics while driving, among other dangers.

There is a very well-known case of the dangers of cosmetics. Buddy Ebsen was originally cast as the ';Tin Man'; in the The Wizard of Oz. Aluminum dust was used for ';tin'; makeup. As the result of an allergic reaction, he was hospitalized and almost died, and Jack Haley replaced him in the movie, only this time the aluminum dust was added to a paste
It can be both. I always wear makeup with at least an SPF of 15 so that is good because it protects against the sun. But it can clog your pores. You need to always wash your face at night, and look for makeup that says it is noncomedogenic which means it won't clog your pores.
In some ways, yes, it does protect your skin a little bit from the elements. But, at the same time makeup can really get into your pores and in some ways age you.
Most makeup these days have sunscreen or sunblock in them, giving you a little more protection from the cancer-causing ultra-violet rays of the sun. This works all year round, not just in the summer. I'm guessing this is what your teacher was thinking of. But be careful, this doesn't mean you are completely protected from the sun.

I think that most young girls are taught that makeup is bad for their skin because many young girls either put too much on at once, (making them look like clowns) or they don't wash it off completly every night. Both of these can clog your pores and cause major zits. Remember, even if most of the color has worn off, and you can't see any makeup on you...there is still some there, clogging up the pores. No matter how tired you are or how clean your face ';looks';...wash it off before you go to bed to cut down on the number of zits you have to deal with.

Keep in mind also, that some people are allergic to certain ingredients in some kinds of makeup. If you are allergic to anything in the makeup, your skin will break out in pimples, itchy red hives, swell up and peel. You may also find you have trouble breathing. If that happens, wash it off, then call a doctor or go to an emergency room. Make sure you bring the container of makeup with you, so the doctor can give you the right medicines to counteract it.
if you wash your face it is good but if you dont it will just make you break out
Makeup can clog pores so make sure that every night you are washing it off but other than that no makeup is not harmful to your skin. In fact some makeup lines have added minerals and vitamins to actually help your skin. The best thing to do is research the ingredients in you particular brand of makeup and find out what they do and why they are in there. This should ease your mind a bit if you know exactly what your putting on your face.
i've always been told it's bad because it clogs ur pores and make u get pimples and stuff...idk...all my friends who wear make-up mostly have acne, but i don't wear it and i have had 1 zit in like 3 years! so i'm gonna say no, she is wrong...just becuz of my experience with it...i cud be wrong tho! :]]
Obviously in terms of your skin no makeup is better you were born natural and that's how it should stay. But it terms of looks use makeup that is designed to be kinder to you skin than regular stuff there are plenty of products out there that have aloe Vera and tea tree oils and what not in that don't damage your skin. Don't wear too much though because like you mouth your skin needs to breath.
I went to a make-up party and it was a all natural make-up party. The make-up was made from only natural products. They told us that most make-up has mineral oil in it and it is really bad for our skin because it doesn't allow our skin to breath like it needs. They put a saltine cracker in the mineral oil and left it for a few weeks and it made the cracker so hard that it broke. You would think that it would have made the cracker really mushy. I don't think make-up is good for our skin, but I use it anyway. I use Arbonne make-up. It is all natural and it is suppose to be alright for our skin.
umm yeah sweetie that would be true because im taking a college cosmetology class as we speak and it does protect your skin from elements. as long as you wipe it off before you go to sleep. theroy states that if you dont you rage 7 years.
Some makeup brands are bad for skin, because of they add extra ingredients suchs as perfume to powder. I recommend Bare Minerals but it is bit expensive.
it depends on what kind of make up you use. i was at a facial they told me to use mineral make up from glo or jane-iredale. but also clean your skin three to four times a week, clean your make up befor you sleep, scurb died skins out once a week, also use mouseriser befor putting make up on. make gives ur skin a glow which can be good for u.
