Does makeup make acne worse (in the long run) if you have bad skin?

It depends on the formula of makeup you use and how thorough your cleansing routine.

I recommend using facial cloths for sensitive skin to completely remove makeup, THEN wash with a good facial cleanser and use a calming tonic or moisturizer for your skin type.

Check out Aveda (www.aveda.com) and Clinique for skin care and make up products that are geared for your skin.

Aveda's powder foundation is very beautiful, natural looking, and surprisingly enough gives almost full coverage. Just be sure to use a large loose brush instead of the sponge applicator they give you.

Clinique liquid foundations are also wonderful and very kind to skin. I do NOT recommend their powders however......if you go this route, try Bare Minerals Mineral Veil or even the Aveda powder foundation to set your makeup.

To further help you find products that will work best for you, check out the Acne Detective List at www.sageskincare.com, and check out the articles and product recommendations at www.dermadoctor.com.

If cruelty-free products are important to you, then you can double check the company at www.caringconsumer.com to find out whether they test on animals or not.

BTW - Aveda and Clinique do NOT test on animals....except the two-legged kind. :-)Does makeup make acne worse (in the long run) if you have bad skin?
some do and some don't. concealer/ foundation definately does make acne worse as it clogs the pores.

your best option is to buy those tinted treatment creams. brands like clearasil/ clean and clear/ neutregena ect all have thee treatments which mask the pimples and get rid of them.

if you do want to wear makeup, however, use ones which are 'non comedogenic' - this term means that they do not clog pores. opt for makeup which is not oily/ oil based. i know cover girl has a water based rage.

or use mineral powder its not meant to make acne worse

good luckDoes makeup make acne worse (in the long run) if you have bad skin?
Yes it truly and honestly does. Even though on every box it say, ';Does not clog pores.'; It does. Because we all sweat sometimes, ad sweating is what causes breakouts because when we sweat are pores become clogged with dirt, bacteria, and oil. That is why when you do strenuous activity you are supposed to wash your face. Now imagine wearing a foundation, on top of sweating. All of that foundation seeps into your pores because of the sweat causing MORE dirt, MORE bacteria, and MORE oil. No foundation or powder can prevent this.

Their are certain ways to help keep your skin clear. Bare Minerals is the only product that truly is light and dosen't clog your pores.

Clearusil Ultra is what I recommend to keep your skin healthy. I use their pore cleansing pads morning and night and this is all it takes to keep my skin clear.
Yes it does. The best thing to do at this point is focus on you skin one step at a time. I don't know what you have tried but I can guarantee you that it wont improve you situation. I've had acne for about 7 years and I know what it's like. Try doing the basic light eyeliner/ eyeshadow, a little gloss and blush ( ask the clerk is she reccomends anything that will not clog your pores. ) If you secide to wear regular blush or bronzer be sure to wash off before bed. I'm using oat meal as my new natural cleanser. I am seeingimprovements so far, day by day. Only wash face 2-3 times per day without over exfloiation and stay strong and be wary of fad acne ad's get your info first. Okay
Depending on the kind of make-up, look for some with natural, organic ingredients to put on skin. It's known, if make-up is old it can make you break out.
yes
foundation does but eyeliner and stuff dont
