Any makeup tips for bad skin?

Any makeup tips for covering up blemishes? Anything that will last all day but still look natural?Any makeup tips for bad skin?
Please ignore Swordoff, (who apparently has never had a bad skin day in his/her life). You most certainly can wear cosmetics while you're bringing blemishes back under control. Just make sure you select the proper formula so it won't contribute to the problem.

Clinique has a number of oil-free options which are excellent. Of course, oil-free doesn't necessarily equate to noncomedogenic, but Clinique manages to accomplish both. You will also probably need a medium to full coverage liquid foundation. Be sure to get some translucent powder to set your makeup and make it last as long as possible.

I have heard Revlon has an excellent all-day foundation which looks natural, but I've never tried it.

You can avoid many ingredients which worsen acne by going to this link at www.sageskincare.com: http://www.zerozits.com/Articles/acnedet?/a>

Be sure to compare your shampoo, conditioner, facial cleansers and cosmetics to this list. Yes, it may seem time consuming at first, but it's worth it to find the products which will work best for you.

You don't mention a skin care routine, but avoid harsh, drying treatments which can aggravate both blemishes and oil. Use cleansers that are gentle (Arbonne Intelligence Facial Cleanser or Aveda Sensitive Skin Cleanser are excellent), and avoid toners. They usually end up being the source of trouble instead of alleviating the problem. You may want to try Oil of Olay's Facial Wipes for Sensitive Skin. Use these to thoroughly remove cosmetics and excess oil, then proceed with your cleansing/moisturing routine as usual.

As for foods - they do make a difference although many dermatolgists fail to make this connection. Anyone who has battled acne most of their life can tell you otherwise. Avoid foods high in acid (like pickles, orange juice from concentrate, etc); and especially avoid food or products high in iodide or iodine. (Includes shellfish, chinese, even vitamins and some high energy drinks like Dr. Enuf) Any product containing kelp, algae, seaweed or carageenan - steer clear of.

If making these simple changes in lifestyle and products doesn't radically improve the situation, then see your dermatologist. There are so many wonderful options today that no one should really have to suffer from acne or blemishes. It can't be cured, but it CAN be controlled.

Best wishes to you -Any makeup tips for bad skin?
With covering stuff up, you really can't have both.... either you can get really good coverage that's not natural-looking, or you can get mild to moderate coverage that's reasonably natural looking.

The better thing to do might be to attack the problem from both directions... go for the mild to moderate coverage and work on your skin at the same time. I have no idea yet if it's any good, but yesterday I saw a new product on the Clinique website (Even Better Skin Corrector) that's supposed to help to even things out and undo scarring. I ran to get it yesterday and I'm really optimistic. If your problem is more along the lines of active blemishes (I'm suffering from not addressing mine in the past!) then you'd need to take a different route, though. But making a mild/moderate improvement in your skin, plus mild/moderate coverage could get you a pretty good overall result.
';Make works best with good skin';

What you should do first is work on finding a good skin care line. I cant tell you which line is the best because everybody reacts differently. It sounds as if you tend to be more sensitive and are obviously blemish prone. Most skincare lines have products depending on skin type. Go for products for sensitive blemish prone skin the will be gentle for you to use.

Mineral make up is great for giving you a natural look, without having to use a lot of product, without clogging pores, and giving coverage that you need. Bare escentuals and cover rx are good choices. You can find them at sephora.
NEVER NEVER NEVER put on makeup over blemishes, cuts, etc.

the secret to flawless makeup, is great/flawless skin!

there are people who come into makeup counters with sunburnt horrible skin asking to get their makeup done..its gross.

you should first work on getting clearer better skin...THEN u can worry about makeup

makeup is not suppossed to act as a mask
i recommend bare minerals it has a natural look and feel it covers up my blemishes too and makes pores seem smaller and even complexion
