Don't get as close to your mirror when you do your make up. Remember,most people who see you are at most times 3 feet away from you %26amp; won't see it as well.





It's got to do with proportions. Do more on your eyes, people notice eyes the first thing %26amp; if you do your eyes right, they'll make your look.





Also do not clash your cheek %26amp; lip colors. They need to be the same hue. Over all, just intensify a little bit.

if you could post a pic that would be helpful but here are some tips on the different areas of the face and what I do.





Foundation: I use Cover Girl TruBlend whipped foundation. It is great because it blends with your skin tone, goes as a cream and smoothes in like a powder. It really looks like you are wearing no makeup but you just have flawless skin.





Cheeks: Try using a pink shade. The lighter pink shades add slight color to your face without being too obvious. it will give you a slight glow, that is what you want your blush to do. Apply it starting at the apple of the cheek and then you can brush in a C shape from above the eyebrow back to the apple of the cheek. Do this with little color, and if you have a Fan brush you should use it here. By just adding a little color in that C area will help add an all over glow without adding a bronzer.





Eyes: First I use some eyeshadow primer, or liquid concealer on the eyelid. so the makeup stays in place and doesn't crease. Then for eyeliner I use an eyeshadow. You can wet your eyeshadow brush and then use a powder eyeshadow or cake makeup for the liner. When lining the eyes for the top lashes start at the inside corner and go to the end of the eyelashes. Keep the brush close to the lash line and use the brush to push and smudge the shadow into the lash line. Don't over-extend past the end of the eye for the 'wing' look it is out dated. For the bottom of the eye apply in the same fashion pushing and smudging the shadow into the lashes from below. I never put the liner inside the eye lid. Start at the outside corner and go in, i go a little farther than half way, but never line all the way around the eye. This closes the eye off. The thickness of the bottom line should get thinner as the line approaches the inside of the eye. For the shadow color experiement with it, but choose liner and shadow colors that compliment each other. If you have green eyes, try using purple's and pink colors.... I have hazel eyes and I love to use green, it brings more green out from my eyes. Browns are a safe bet too. I also never use one color of shadow, try mixing. It's all about experimenting here so go to town!





Lips: I usually just use a tinted gloss. Especially with all the effort I put into eyes I like to make them the focal part.





I know it is a lot to read, but with makeup don't be afraid to try new things out. If all else fails invite some girl friends over and get a second opinion. It's a good excuse to give each other makeovers and catch up on the latest gossip!
