I do my makeup bad. its so bad that someone thought i had a black eye, when it was really my makeup. HELP!!??!

i am bad with eyeliner, and im okay with eyeshadow but i dont want it to look like i tried too hard. can anyone refresh my memory and give me any tips? i really need it.

thanks!I do my makeup bad. its so bad that someone thought i had a black eye, when it was really my makeup. HELP!!??!
If you're messy with liquid liner, try a self-sharpening pencil (cover girl has them I believe). I hold either one like a writing pencil and start from the inside corner, gradually making the line a little thicker toward the outside corner. If you're still poor at it, use a small brush and dark eye shadow, but this likely won't last a whole day whereas a pencil or liquid liner should. It must be placed on the north side of your eyelashes! Inside the edge of the eye is unattractive and unhealthy. The intention of it is to make your eyes look wider and your eyelashes thicker.

EDIT-- also meant to say don't put any on the bottom, except maybe a smidge in the outside corner that fades out almost immediately. Don't use black, but a nice warm brown.I do my makeup bad. its so bad that someone thought i had a black eye, when it was really my makeup. HELP!!??!
Don't use dark colors. Brown or gold would look a LOT prettier. Especially if you have blue eyes like me. And i don't know if you want too or not but if you want longer lashes try Vaseline. I heard it works! But you have to be patient. It could take a few weeks or months but it does work! Don't put too much though. Just one light layer. oh! And also don't get any in your eye! It's not good for your eyes. Only your eye lashes.

well Good-Luck! I hope this helped!
earth colors always help with any situation
Don;t use a pencil eyeliner, get a liquid one ( i recommend Loreal linear liquid) and try to keep your hand steady as you apply. the liquid ones tend to be a lot neater then pencil and dries so it doesn't get smudgy. Don;t use eye shadwo like purple or dark blue if you don't want to get that black eye effect, instead for now, try using pink, green, gold, etc. but always on the light side.
Prang colored pencils you can get at walmart in the back to school section are great fro you, they do not run and work like eyeliner but are alot cheaper.

and you can take a lighter and heat the tip if you want them to apply smoother and heavier.
When doing eyeliner try for a tight line, and if you're bad with it don't do a bottom line--that can sometimes smear and look like you're tired. So if you're planning on lining the lower lid really go thin, you can always add more.

Maybe you're using too dark of makeup for your skin tone, if you're fair skinned and wearing black try for a dark brown instead--it looks much better and warmer. ^^
don't wear eyeliner! if u are good with eyeshadow, then just use a slightly darker color on the bottom of the top eyelid. it ends up looking softer and not so messy.
the secret in applying eyeliner, be it liquid or pencil eyeliner is PRACTICE. spend a few hours everyday in front of a mirror. experiment with different techniques to achieve the look you want. also, make sure your eyeliner is SMUDGE PROOF. or better yet, choose a liquid eyeliner and line the area just above your upper lashes. it will open up your eyes. applying liquid eyeliner maybe harder, but with practice, it will yield really amazing results. it won't easily smudge and will stay on all day long. on your lower lashes, you can use pencil eyeliner. use brown during the day and black at night. then curl your lashes and apply two coats of lengthening mascara. now that's famazing. =)
If it's a steady hand you have issues with, go with a gel eyeliner like Bobbi Brown, Smashbox, or MAC. But if you like the liquid, covergirl's new felt tip pen is amazing. I got it in black and it's very fine point and dries quickly.

If it's the over abundance of color, I'd stay away from black and try a medium plum or cobalt blue shade. Brown and grey works too. You'll look like you have eyeliner on, but it won't look overpowering.

If you just want t be subtle, don't go above the lash line at all. Just apply in between the lashes, top and bottom and don't go onto your lids.
yah, Don't wear makeup! it messes up your pores and you get zits.

anyway...

i do my eyeshadow different, and it really works for me. so usually wear eyeshadow matching whatever color shirt i'm wearing, then on the botton of my lid, near the lashes, i apply a dark color so it looks like i have eyeliner on. it's easier than eyeliner, and it doesn't take too much time

goodluck!
Sometimes certain make-up looks don't really suit others. It's also Handy if you practice applying make up with good brushes, I used to be a finger person, But after practicing applying make-up with brushes works wonders!

Be careful If you are trying to do a SMOKY look You don't want panda Eyes!

If you are not so fab with eyeliner, try Mascara? It's natural without the tryhard-iness..
