What are the social implications of women in America wearing makeup, whether they are good or bad at it?

Her social status is at stake. If a women is wearing make-up in a clean and sophisticated way we tend to think that she is upper class and if the make-up isn't done well we tend to think she is low class or a slut.....What are the social implications of women in America wearing makeup, whether they are good or bad at it?
I guess it would depend on the part of America she lived in. Some parts of America most women don't wear make up at all, so this is a tough question. I guess if she wore make up you would assume she had a job that required her to wear make up. I would assume that if she was bad at wearing make up, that she had a bad life, and she was trying to hide from the world.
