Is makeup bad for you?

I've heard that makeup gives you wrinkles and can damage your skin. Is this true?

Personally, I use noncomedogenic foundation (with spf 15)everyday but I always wash it off at night. I really don't like to use foundation, but it's just to cover some redness I have from moderate acne. Also, I put moistureizer before the makeup.

Thanks!Is makeup bad for you?
if u dont wash it off all it can give u is acneIs makeup bad for you?
Key is to have a good skin care routine. Nothing on your face is best, per grandma. Make up is essential for me and I am Indian. Wrinkles are cause from these things, but not limited to. Eye wrinkles, not wearing sun glasses, genetics and pulling on the skin around the eyes. Gravity reeks havoc on our skin. it pulls it down. So gently use lifting strokes when putting on make up. Eventually thinkgs all go south. I start vacationing in Florida next year to pick it all up (grin) just kidding. Sephora is a great make up line, so is bare minerals. Sunscreen, juries still out on that one. Been used for years and millions still have wrinkles etc. Less chemical on your face the better. Less is more. Hydration/water is important and when the body is dehydrated depletes the pores of the skin also causing wrinkles. Try this. Take a hot shower and cleanse your face really well, pat it dry and use a touch of moisturizer, drink plenty of water. In two or three days see if you notice a change. You may have to change foundation coverage and you'll see a change in the redness in your skin. Let me know how it works, best of luck.
i think what you are doing is fine. you seem to be taking good care of your skin... dont forget to put on spf15/30 sunscreen!!!! if ur at home dont wear make up just wear it when u go out!! take care
No it doesn't give you wrinkles, but too much could clog your pores and cause acne.
make-up is only damaging to yr skin if u don't wash it off properly. u must have an integrated makeup removal system

cleanse

tone

moisturize

i recommend Proactiv cuz its what i use

the reason that ppl say that it gives u wrinkles is cuz when they wash it off, they don't moisturize and it dries out their skin thus predisposing them to wrinkles. Hope it was useful!!

one more thing, i hope that the moisturizer u use is a light one cuz if not it will clog yr pores.
Make up is not damaging to your skin as long as you are wearing the right kind of make up. You should choose a make up with quality ingredients. Make sure you are wearing make up that won’t clog your pores (free of mineral oil, lanolin or cocoa butter). Also you want something that is free of harsh chemicals, dyes and other residues. Wearing a make up that contains SPF will help prevent sun damage on your face. Sun damage is usually what causes your skin to age faster.

As long as you are taking care of your skin by cleansing and moisturizing before and after your make up application and you are wearing quality make up with skin-friendly ingredients, then you will not have to worry about damaging your skin. You might want to try make up that contains natural ingredients; these ingredients tend to be better for your skin.
Some makeup are actually good for you, but they are costly. Bare Minerals, Sheer Cover, Shiseido, etc are some of the good ones. But whatever make up you are using, make sure you wash it off well at night with a cleanser.
yes it is true. that is for some makeup. if you wear it too heavy or too much, you can get pimples. but i dont know about wrinkles.
Some makeups can get into the fine lines and make them deeper with time. I use a tinted moisturizer instead and only wear actual makeup if I'm going out or doing something that requires a little extra effort in my appearance.
No it not bad for you, but you should use a foundation before applying it, and you must remove it when going to bed, do not sleep with it on, that's what's bad.
i know you dont want people to see your acne, but what really worked for me after 3 years of struggle was using less makeup on my face. the little i did use was nuetrogena powder with salicycic acid, which helped tremendously!!!!

also, you have the right idea putting on moisturizer before foundation.it helps the make up stay in place, and keeps skin from drying out with powders.but remember, keep the make up light(like sheer powders ,they'll hide shine).and although people will see your acne at first, if you let your skin breathe, there will be less and less to hide with heavy foundation.
some
Well too much make-up can. All I do is wash my face everyday with Clearsell or Proactive and put on a little lipgloss. And that's just enough for me. But it sounds like whatever you put on is just fine.
