What are good minerals and bad minerals for makeup?

It seems like minerals in makeup and hair care products are ALL over lately and it is hard to know which are good products and which are scams! ';try this! All natural minerals, it's good for you!';


I read an article somewhere, I think it said talc was bad and it listed some ingredients to avoid because they were made from petroleum.


Could someone help narrow it down? Which minerals are good for you skin and which are bad? The purity is of course a factor, but how do you KNOW if it is pure or not?
